"Stop the car," Emmy suddenly said.

James didn't say a word. He simply reached over and gripped Emmy's hand tightly.

The car started again, winding along the mountain road toward Cloudrest Peak. The cabin remained quiet for a while until Emmy suddenly remembered something. She turned to ask him, "By the way, is Mr. Michell doing better? We left the hospital in such a rush that I forgot to check on him. I really shouldn't have done that." Steering with one hand, James spoke in a mild tone. "I already checked on him for you last night. He's doing much better. He can get out of bed now, and after another month or so of rest, he'll be discharged."

Relieved, Emmy nodded. "That's good. But we can't be lacking in courtesy. I'll still have Danny go check on him on my behalf and bring him some supplements."

With that, she pulled her phone from her bag, preparing to call Danny.

"How about sending someone else?" James suggested suddenly.
