Sylvia could not breathe under his forceful kiss, but her body responded entirely on instinct as she wrapped her arms tightly around his neck.

Teetering on the edge of total collapse, Steve used the last shreds of his self-control to reach down and shut off the freezing water. He pried Sylvia's arms away, lifted her up, and set her back into the bathtub before turning to turn on the warm water. The tub quickly began to fill. Steve gripped the edge of the tub, his chest heaving wildly. He was just about to step back to catch his breath when the woman in the water refused to let him go.

Sylvia reached out again, grabbing the soaking collar of his shirt, and yanked him downward with surprising strength. Caught completely off guard, Steve lost his balance, one foot plunging directly into the tub. Before he could even attempt to stand up, Sylvia had already melted against him. Her kisses were frantic and messy, pressing urgently against his lips, flat-out refusing to let him pull away.

Steve cursed under his breath. Giving up the fight entirely, he turned slightly and sat down in the water. The warm water steadily rose, enveloping them both in a hazy cloud of steam. Their clothes, thoroughly soaked, clung to their skin like the most frustrating of barriers. Sylvia curled up in the water, leaning entirely against his chest, desperately pressing herself closer.

Steve gripped the edge of the tub with one hand, his knuckles turning pale from the sheer force. He was still fighting to keep the caged beast inside him locked away. But Sylvia's fingertips were already wandering unconsciously over his chest, tearing at the soaked fabric of his shirt.

Steve sucked in a sharp breath and immediately grabbed her restless hands. He forced his fingers through hers, locking their hands together, and pinned her arms beneath the water. Looking down at the woman in his arms, whose eyes were hazy with desire, he forced down the raging inferno inside him. His voice was so hoarse it was completely unrecognizable.

"Sylvia, when you wake up tomorrow, are you going to hate me again?"

Sylvia did not answer. She only whimpered softly, burying her face into his warm neck. Her lips trailed over his tense jawline, finally resting on his prominent Adam's apple as she let out a tortured sob.

That was the final straw that broke Steve's restraint. His grip abruptly loosened, and his hands slid beneath the water.

The surface of the water swayed gently, sending tiny ripples outward. No one could truly say who had been the first to cross that point of no return. The heavy steam slowly filled the room, completely fogging over the glass partition. Through the haze, two shadows could barely be seen, hopelessly entangled in the rippling water.

Soon, no other sounds could be heard in the bathroom. Only the rhythmic sloshing of water against the tub, the woman's pained, soft whimpers, and the man's occasional, deep, comforting whisper asking her to be good. The emotions that had been suppressed for so long finally exploded in that small room, completely uncontrollable.

An eternity seemed to pass before the splashing finally stopped. Steve grabbed a towel, quickly dried them both off, and carried the utterly exhausted woman to the large bed. But the woman in his arms refused to let go, her slender arms still hooked softly around his neck. Steve had no choice but to stretch his arm out and turn off the glaring overhead light. The room instantly fell into darkness, illuminated only by the dim, warm glow of the bedside lamp.

The thin edge of the blanket slowly slipped down. In the shifting shadows, Sylvia's smooth, pale shoulder was exposed, alongside Steve's head buried deep against her neck.
