Inside the executive office, Sylvia kept her head down, forcing herself to focus on the documents in front of her. When she heard the door open, she assumed it was her assistant and asked without looking up, "Have the partners for the Westfield project arrived? Please take them to the reception room, pour them some coffee, and let them know I will be out in two minutes."

The person did not respond. Instead, the sound of steady, purposeful footsteps approached her desk. A moment later, a piping hot breakfast, along with a glass of warm milk, was set down right beside her hand. Sylvia froze. Before she could even look up to see who it was, a large, well-defined hand reached across the desk and snatched the document right out of her grasp. Startled, Sylvia jerked her head up, her gaze instantly locking with a pair of deep, dark eyes. Steve leaned one hand casually against the edge of her desk. "Eat your breakfast before you get back to work," he said, his voice low and commanding.

Shock and bewilderment flashed through Sylvia's eyes. Frowning instinctively, she demanded, "Who gave you permission to come in here?"

Seeing her so instantly defensive and prickly sent a sharp pang through Steve's heart. He let out a resigned sigh and began unpacking the breakfast container with his long fingers. "Just eat your breakfast, and I will leave."

Sylvia's face grew cold as she held out her hand. "Give me the document."

Steve simply raised his arm, lifting the file out of her reach. "No. Eat first."

Sylvia's chest heaved as her breathing grew rapid with mounting anger. Unfortunately, the more emotionally agitated she became, the more her body's physical symptoms spiraled out of control. Her right hand, still suspended in mid-air, began to shake violently once again.
