Effie eventually walked over to grab a few skewers from the grill, while the rest of the employees kept a deeply respectful distance.

Once she retreated to her spot, Lyman completely lost interest in playing chef and handed the tongs off to one of the managers.

Settling down outside their tents, Effie, Shirley, and a few colleagues spent the evening drinking, chatting, and admiring the brilliant moon over the mountains.

The light buzz from the alcohol combined with the cool mountain breeze left Effie feeling wonderfully relaxed and content.

Suddenly, her phone buzzed in her pocket.
