Third person P.O.V.

Madame Rivers had long hoped for Ella to become a part of the family. However, her son, Anthony, was completely absorbed in his career, rarely returning home. Moreover, he had shown a cold attitude towards Ella, the potential daughter-in-law.

When Madame Rivers learned about the issue with Ella's drink, her first reaction was to use this incident to bring her son and Ella closer. She had someone send Ella to a guest room to rest and went to find Anthony, asking him to bring some sobering soup for Ella.

However, no one could have expected that Anthony, completely unaware of the situation, would give the drink to someone else.

At that moment, Gerald happened to be there to pick up his cousin, Elena, to take her home.

Elena, feeling uncomfortable after her quarrel with Aurelia, had a bit too much to drink and also went to rest in a guest room.

When Anthony came out of the kitchen, he ran into Gerald.

Gerald asked him where Elena was, and Anthony said she was in a guest room. He also gave the sobering soup to Gerald, asking him to help deliver it to Ella.

Since Elena and Ella were best friends, Gerald naturally knew her and didn't refuse the request.

Ella didn't lock the guest room door, feeling hot all over as she waited for Anthony to come in and for everything to naturally fall into place.

However, she never expected that the person who eventually walked in was Gerald. In her irrational state, she ended up having an intimate encounter with him.

Gerald, a person with little moral integrity, naturally wouldn't refuse such a passionate woman who took the initiative.

Ella was only one step away from her goal, but due to a twist of fate, she not only failed to be with Anthony but also lost her innocence.

When she woke up in the morning and found Gerald beside her, she went mad and kicked him out.

She spent the entire morning crying. She never imagined that as soon as she left the guest room, she saw Anthony coming out.

She genuinely loved Anthony, with a deep affection that ran through her bones from childhood.

But now, there was no chance for her to be with Anthony anymore. Her mind was filled with six words: self-inflicted disaster, doomed to despair.

No one could have foreseen that Ella's own actions would lead to her downfall.

Meanwhile, Lukas had just finished dinner with the person in charge of the Grand Jewelers' Competition. He explained Aurelia's situation and promised that Strakovski Jewelry would provide a reasonable explanation to the competition's organizers. In a couple of days, Strakovski Jewelry would clarify the issue.

The other party was impressed by Aurelia's design and agreed to the arrangement. After all, such outstanding work would not only win in their competition but also in others. Moreover, they were aware that Lukas, a prominent figure, was supporting Aurelia.

Lukas had initially planned to go home, but he received a call from Martins.

"Mr. Strakovski, while investigating the incident with Miss Lopez's design being swapped, I discovered that the surveillance videos at the company's front desk were tampered with," Martins's voice sounded serious.

Lukas's expression turned cold. "So, you mean someone from within the company is responsible?"

Martins replied objectively, "It's highly possible."

After a moment's hesitation, I answered the call.

"Hello, what are you doing, Aurelia?" Victoria's tone was unusually good, something I hadn't heard in a long time.

I couldn't remember when exactly, but Victoria's attitude towards me had become worse over time.

Sometimes I even wondered if I was really Victoria's biological daughter.

In a cold tone, I asked, "Do you have something to call me about?"

Victoria didn't care about my coldness and spoke gently, "It's been a long time since you've come home. Come back for dinner tonight."

I sarcastically tugged at the corner of my lips. "Mom, your memory can't be that bad. How did you and Bella treat me at the courthouse? Have you forgotten? I thought in your hearts, I was no longer part of the Lopez family."

Victoria sighed. "Aurelia, you shouldn't say that. No matter what unpleasant things have happened between us, we are still family. Blood is thicker than water. Don't hold grudges like this. Mom genuinely wants you to come home for dinner."

"I genuinely tell you that I don't want to come back." my tone was firm.

Victoria was silent for two seconds. "What if I said your uncle was here too? If I remember correctly, you have a very good relationship with your uncle, and he doesn't know you're married to Lucas yet, right?"

"If you don't come back, I wonder what I'll tell your uncle. I can't say for sure what he'll think when he finds out that, for his sake, you married someone you don't even like. What do you think he'll feel?"
