When Colin took Sabrina away, Jonah stood silently behind the window, watching everything unfold. His expression darkened to the point where it seemed like it could drip water when he saw Colin holding Sabrina with such care and concern.

Colin’s careful manner toward Sabrina—how could that be just a normal friendship?

Jonah had barely left Sabrina to go upstairs when Colin arrived. Wasn’t this all prearranged?

Jonah clenched his fists tightly, the anger within him intensifying.

Jonah remained at the window, unmoving, for what felt like hours as night slowly gave way to dawn. The world outside was a blur, and the restless feeling in Jonah’s chest grew increasingly unbearable. He couldn’t pinpoint whether this rising frustration was due to Sabrina’s pitiful state or the fact that she had once again conspired with Colin to deceive him.

The doctor continued, “The patient suffered from violent trauma before her death, including two stab wounds, which led to a miscarriage. Combined with severe blood loss and the failure to receive timely treatment, she passed away at 9:37. My condolences.”

It was as if a thunderclap had struck Colin, freezing every drop of blood in his veins. His gaze became vacant, and his vision darkened. It took him a moment to process before he stumbled into the emergency room, collapsing beside Sabrina. Staring at her lifeless form covered by a white sheet, his hands trembled, too afraid to touch her.

The doctor, unable to bear the sight, gently said to Colin, “You should prepare for the funeral.”
