Leander’s foot slammed onto the marble floor, sinking half an inch into the stone. A shallow trench streaked out from the impact, stretching over thirty feet.
Daphne and the others froze, staring in disbelief.
Leander’s strength was legendary–he could slice through supersonic fighter jets. The only one at the top of the King Phase Rankings of the present era, he was a peerless powerhouse, even compared to the King Phase masters of a century ago.
Yet the old man in the luxurious robes had merely flicked his sleeve–and Leander was hurled back more than thirty feet, as if it required no effort at all. The casual display of such overwhelming power was truly astonishing.
Leander skidded back, then his palm erupted in a ring of blue energy, shaking the ground with sheer force. Only then did the colossal, crushing momentum dissipate, and he came to a halt.
“What incredible power!”
His eyes narrowed as he scanned the night sky. The old man’s figure had vanished, leaving nothing but a gust of wind that drifted away.
“Ander, are you okay?”
Daphne quickly rushed to his side, her face tight with worry.
Honestly, this was the first time since their reunion that she had seen Leander struggle in a clash of raw strength.
The old man’s casual strike had sent him flying. She didn’t dare imagine what might happen if the man unleashed his full power.
“I’m fine.”
Leander shook his head lightly, his gaze deepening with curiosity. The old man’s identity fascinated him more and more.
A single, effortless strike capable of suppressing him like that? Even the Dragon Emperor couldn’t do that to him.
Though he had never considered himself invincible, Leander was confident in his power. Yet tonight, the old man reminded him just how vast and unpredictable the world truly was.
The Dragon Emperor, the 16 Supreme Arbiters of the Arbitration Office, the High Priest of the Church- they were all the pinnacle of the martial world. But even their top status was merely what was visible.
The world was full of hidden martial experts. This old man, for instance, could easily defeat them all.

Could he be one of the legendary beings above the King Phase? Leander pondered, the possibility growing more real with each thought.
King Phase masters represented the peak of contemporary power, but history spoke of even greater existences like Westerian divinities and Eastern immortals.
“Leander!” Reginald snapped out of his shock. “Who is that old man? How could anyone be that strong?”
Leander’s eyes sharpened, but he didn’t answer. Instead, he asked, “Where’s my mom? Where is she right now?”
Ethan responded immediately, “Mom and Dad went on a trip. I talked to them on the phone a couple days ago. They’re in Zolara!”
Leander paused briefly, then dialed Lydia’s number.
After three rings, her voice came through–cheerful and light.
“Ander, is that you? Finally giving your mom a call!”
Hearing her tone eased some of Leander’s worry. He didn’t mention the old man, simply keeping the conversation casual.
“Mom, I just got back from the Sahar Wastes and decided to bring Dani to see you. Didn’t realize you were traveling! Where are you now?”
“You have done all these world–shaking things and are only now thinking of your mom,” Lydia scolded lightly, though her voice carried a trace of indulgence.
“I just flew with your dad to Lucentia in Etrax. We’re on top of Zenith Tower, taking photos!”
Leander was silent for a moment, then said, “I see. Well, have fun–I won’t keep you. If anything happens, call me immediately. I’ll be there in no time.”
A brief pause followed on the other end, then Lydia laughed softly.
“We’re just traveling. What could possibly happen? You’re the Iron Sovereign, top of the world–who would dare mess with me?
“Alright, that’s settled. When I go back to Highcliffe, you’ll bring Dani over. I’ll make glazed ribs and roast chicken for you!”
She hung up.
Ethan frowned. “Leander, why didn’t you tell Mom and Dad about the old man? They should at least be aware, for safety’s sake.”
Daphne and Reginald looked at him, puzzled.
Leander rested his chin in his hand, shaking his head.

“The old man was hiding in the Ashcroft Residence, clearly to check on Mom. With his strength, tracking her would be effortless. His concealment shows no ill intent toward her.
“Then, there’s no reason to worry her during her trip.”
He raised his palm, slowly clenching his fingers, his eyes turning sharp and cold.
“But whatever his purpose, I will find out. Any threat near my mom must be eliminated. Next time… I won’t let him leave so easily.”
Atop Zenith Tower in Lucentia, Etrax, Gareth and Lydia stood in the fierce wind, like a couple suspended in the sky.
Lydia had just hung up when Gareth asked, concerned, “Was that Leander? Did he return to Astria?”
She nodded, but her expression had turned serious, far from the lightheartedness she had shown during the call.
“Leander said he had brought Dani to visit me today. He didn’t mention anything else, but I have a feeling something happened–enough to make him call and ask where I am.
“I suppose someone from ‘that side‘ came… and it was a heavyweight. He must have felt the pressure and worried I might be in danger.”
Despite being thousands of miles away, Lydia’s insight seemed almost prophetic, her eyes gleaming with sharp intelligence.
“Are you talking about someone from the Brookhaven family?”
