The woman frowned slightly, said “It’s fine,” and then turned to leave as well.

Billy tried to call her back, but he could not think of anything to say. In the end, he could only shake his head helplessly.

In the cafeteria, Leander had just finished getting his meal when Billy showed up again.

He sat across from him, still visibly surprised. “Leander, what exactly happened between you and Rachel just now? Why did she come after you to apologize?”

“Rachel?” Leander looked slightly puzzled. “You mean that girl?”

Billy’s eyes widened in disbelief. “You seriously don’t know Rachel Haley?”

“She’s the most famous girl at Ember University-the number one campus belle. She’s already made it to the finals of a major beauty pageant and could very well take the crown this year. And you’ve never heard of her?”

Leander touched his nose and shrugged. “I really haven’t paid attention to that kind of thing. You know my routine-cafeteria, library, classroom, rental place. That’s it. I don’t have time for pageants or campus beauties.”

Billy was speechless.

He covered his face and groaned. “Leander, even if you didn’t know, you should’ve at least heard me mention her before. Didn’t! tell you I liked someone and wanted to pursue her? That’s Rachel.”

“Is that so?” Leander said casually. “Then, everything’s already set. Why are you still here?”

“Leander, I need your help. I can’t handle two girls on my own. It’ll be awkward. Come with me. Two guys, two girls-you’ll be my wingman so I can get some chances to perform. I’ve never really asked you for anything, but this is important.

“My future happiness depends on it. Please don’t refuse me.”

His expression turned pitiful, but Leander remained unmoved.

He waved a hand. “Stop it. You know I still have class this afternoon. I can’t help you. Find someone else.”

“Come on, Leander!” Billy refused to give up and continued to plead.

After several rounds of refusal, Leander finally gave in. “Just this once. No next time.”

Billy immediately lit up with joy and pulled him toward his Lamborghini Huracan.

The engine roared as the car sped toward Ebonpeak, heading to a high-end restaurant.

At the restaurant, Billy provided his reservation details. A waiter respectfully led them into a private room.

They waited for about ten minutes before the door suddenly opened.
