Even though it was a Friday and I had all weekend to do my homework, I was working on it now because otherwise, I'd be too lazy to do it on Saturday. And Sunday. And I would rather not let my grades go down, so I would have to suffer with doing it now.

I really hated when I was distracted while I was doing my homework. I just wanted to get it done and over with, and my family knew not to interrupt me. Unless there was food to be eaten.

So when someone knocked on my bedroom door, I immediately threw my pillow at it. "Go away! I'm doing homework!"

Whoever it was ignore me and opened the door slowly anyway. "Well, that's too bad," Jerome said as he walked into the bedroom, carrying two big cloth bags.

I furrowed my eyebrows. "What's that?"

"Well, I would tell you, but you are doing homework," Jerome said, closing the door behind him.

"Okay, but you did come in my room anyway even though I told you that I'm doing my homework," I pointed out.

"Fair point," Jerome said as he walked over, placing the bags onto the edge of my bed. "So quick question. Does your homework have to be done today? Because it is Friday, so you do have Saturday and Sunday to do it."

"I know, but I like getting it done and over with because I feel very lazy on the weekends," I said.

"How close are you to finishing?" Jerome asked. "Because I could wait until you're done."

I was close to finished but there was no way I could keep my focus with Jerome here. If anything, he was the biggest distraction.

So I just closed my notebook and textbook instead, placing it on the nightstand. "I'll just do it tomorrow. I have done it Saturdays at times. I just prefer doing it Fridays. So again, what's in the bags."

"I'm surprised you haven't smelled them yet," Jerome said as he reached into one of the bags and pulled out two boxes of pizza. "I've got pizza, soda, chips, chocolate, and gummy candy of course. Sour gummy candy that is since I know you like that a lot more than regular gummy candy."

"Wow, that's a lot of food," I said. "Why, exactly, did you bring it all here?"

"Because we are celebrating you coming out," Jerome said, which made me even more confused. "Yes, and I know you didn't really come out but you did to me and since I'm your best friend, that was probably hard enough."
