He snorted, giving a curt shake of his head. "I never said that."

"Pardon?"

"There are very few things I like more than sleep, but sex? Sex is definitely one of those things. Not that you would understand that, little virgin."

I gasped dramastically. "Don't make my sexual status or lack thereof part of my identity. I'll go back to calling you dickwad."

"I prefer it when you call me Dom. I remember the first time you called me that. Well, actually, you didn't start saying it to my face until the last few days. But there were times when I heard it in that unguarded mind of yours. The first was when I went to say goodbye to Alfie and Andrew. When I kissed your cheek, which by the way, I knew you were awake, you whispered it softly in your mind. I didn't want to say anything because I was worried you would force yourself to stop saying or thinking it. But it made my wolf and I so happy. It made everything, all the struggles and torment and tears, all of it worth it."

"I'm sorry I couldn't say I love you back, Dom," I blurted, pulling my face from his shoulder and neck so I could look at him. "I wanted to... But I just couldn't."

Dominic gave me a bit of a sad smile, but it was also a reassuring one. "I knew you weren't ready long before I said it. I'm not naive, little one, nor do I think that there's anything wrong with one person saying 'i love you' first. We're adults and I am going to treat this relationship as an adult relationship. One in which I will tell you what I'm feeling, even if I think you don't return them back. But I know someday you will, Caroline. And I will wait. I will wait months if I have to, but you will love me too."

"You're really soft."

I couldn't help but giggle, gazing up at Dominic, who was stroking his hand through my hair leisurely. We were still in bed and it was almost noon. Dominic had apparently planned to take us to the beach, where that cave was, but a sudden thunderstorm made that impossible. So we opted for an inside day instead.

We both woke up around ten, mostly because Dominic couldn't lay there without touching me in some way and the way his fingers traced a path from my hip to my knee and back again had me roused within moments, goosebumps lighting up my skin. After about fifteen minutes of the two of us snuggled up under the blankets, Dominic leaned in to kiss my mouth before rolling out of bed and announcing that he would be providing me with breakfast in bed.

His teeth scraped against my sensitive skin, making me grit my teeth and my fingers lace through the locks on his head. Dominic let out a moan and lifted his head suddenly. "Stop, sugar, or else I will lose control."

"You're the one that should be stopping," I claimed, slowly letting go of his hair and looking down at my tummy. "If someone walked in right now, this would be quite the predicament."

He chuckled, looking up at me and shaking his head. "Not quite. Now, if I was between your legs, that would be a different story." My face got hot and I looked away from him, chewing on my bottom lip. "I wouldn't mind being between these gorgeous thighs."

"Do you have to be so vulgar?" I groaned, but absentmindedly shifted my thighs together, hoping he wouldn't notice.

Dominic grinned at me, his hand moving beneath the blanket to hook on my inner thigh, parting them. "I can smell your arousal. You can't just squish your legs together and hide it from me."
