"It happens, sugar," he assured me. "No need to apologize. Though at this rate, this will be an expensive week."
I snorted, rolling my eyes playfully. Dominic wrapped his arms around me from behind and kissed my hair. "You're feeling very warm. Do you want another ice bath?" Dom asked, pulling my hair away from my neck. He twisted it into a ponytail and, much to my surprise, had an elastic around his wrist and tied it up and away from my face, into a messy bun.
"Thank you. And yeah, that'd be nice." I rubbed my face tiredly. "Then I want to take some more naps. How long does this last?"
"How long can it last, or how long do I think yours will last?" Dominic tested, lifting his phone to text someone about the bath. It took two people pouring ice in to make sure there was enough to make it worth, which is why he had to text a team. And they both were mated males, because Dom was feeling very possessive.
I grimaced. "Both, please."
Dominic got a thoughtful look on his face. "In my experience, the longest I have ever seen is two weeks. But that was only one case. I believe yours will last about five days, considering how much it has progressed in the last few hours."
It was true. I could feel the temperature rising and every time Dominic touched me, the heat between my legs both simmered and increased at the same time. His touch was working as a reward system to my body, where once it felt the relief, it wanted more.
"I don't know if I could do two weeks of this, Dominic," I confessed. "I'm exhausted."
He agreed. "I hope we are looking at the shorter of those two times. One girls only lasted two days, but her and her mate slept together and conceived that night. Which may have been a factor."
My body tingled at the words "slept together" signaling to me that I was officially losing it. "This is so weird," I groaned.
Just then, two men came in carrying massive bags of ice. They didn't even look at me before marching into the bathroom and pouring the ice into the tub. "Thank you!" I called to them sincerely.
Dominic kissed the side of my face repeatedly. "I'm glad you aren't to the grumpy phase yet."
"The grumpy phase?"
"I don't think you can handle it," I teased.
This was a bad idea. A horrible idea. As soon as Dominic was half naked and sitting across from me in the tub, something took control of me. I launched myself at him, holding his face securely as I kissed his plump, firm lips. He gasped, hands immediately moving to my waist as he returned the deep kiss.
I moaned at the touch of his hands on my skin, which ignited the fire even though we were sitting in an ice bath. My brain was screaming no, for me to stop, but my body had a mind of its own right then.
"Dominic," I moaned with a shudder as I felt him hardening against my thigh.
His lips trailed down my throat, feverishly seeking out his mark to give it the attention it was craving.
The both of us seemed to wake up at the same time, pushing each other away. I jerked back so hard that I actually fell into the water and swallowed a mouthful of it, coughing it back up when Dominic pulled me back into a sitting position. "I'm sorry," he gushed. "I don't know what just happened."
