You have to hold on.” He leaned in close, his voice a low, triumphant whisper in the old man’s ear. “Otherwise, you won’t get to see me take Thaddeus’s place as president of the Abernathy Group.”

Hamilton was rushed to the hospital. Because the emergency board meeting was critical and a decision had to be made that day, neither Frederic nor Chad went with him. With Thaddeus still in police custody, only Mr. Murray was by the old man’s side.
