Althea frowned. “What’s this?”

“I was planning to give it to you later. But this feels like the right moment and... you can open it.”

Althea narrowed her eyes suspiciously. Then she began opening the gift box from her husband. Her heart immediately started beating a little faster as the box opened. Her breath caught in her throat.

Inside was a beautiful necklace. Its brilliance was truly captivating. A delicate silver chain with a pearl pendant that shimmered softly beneath the restaurant lights.
