Several hours earlier...

The old house hidden deep within the forest was still shrouded in silence. From the outside, the building appeared deserted, like a house that had long been abandoned. There was no sound of vehicles, no noticeable activity, only the wind rustling the pine trees surrounding it.

Inside the study on the ground floor, Falcon stood facing the window, enjoying a cup of black coffee that was still sending up thin wisps of steam. His gaze rested on the vast forest in the distance, as though he were waiting for something.

A moment later, there were two knocks at the door.

"Come in."

A man in a black suit immediately stepped inside before stopping a few paces from Falcon's desk.

"Sir."

Falcon didn't turn around. "What is it?"

"The Miller men have made their move."

The corners of Falcon's lips slowly lifted. "Just as I expected."

"They're heading to the house in Riverside."

This time, Falcon genuinely smiled. He set his coffee cup down on the desk with an unhurried motion. "Good."

He finally turned to face his subordinate. "That means Brandon really took the bait."

The man hesitated slightly. "In that case... should we move the woman immediately?"

Falcon slowly shook his head. "Not yet." He glanced at the watch on his left wrist. "Let Chris Miller keep himself occupied first."

His gaze grew sharper. "He'll waste his time searching that house." Falcon gave a faint smile. "And by the time it's all over... they'll start questioning each other's decisions."

His voice remained calm.

"By the time he realizes everything," he paused briefly before smiling again, "we'll be far away from that place."

Silence settled over the room once more.

Falcon reached for the phone on his desk. His fingers dialed a number he knew by heart. The call was answered after only two rings.

"Prepare the mansion east of Berlin."

A deep voice on the other end replied briefly. "Yes, sir."

"I'll arrive tonight," Falcon said.

"We'll have everything ready."

"Make sure the private airstrip is ready. I don't want anyone knowing I've arrived."

"Understood."

Falcon ended the call without a word of farewell. The conversation had lasted less than thirty seconds. As far as he was concerned, that was more than enough.

He had no idea that the reflected signal from that brief call was being picked up by Brandon elsewhere.

Falcon slipped his phone back into the pocket of his suit jacket. "Get the vehicle ready."

His subordinate nodded.

"This house has to be clean before they arrive."

"We've already started removing all traces," the guard replied.
