In the middle of the conversation, Josh suddenly turned toward Chris, who had been mostly quiet, occasionally glancing at Naomi.

"Uncle Chris."

The man looked up. "Yes?"

Josh leaned back in his chair with a mischievous grin. "Everyone's already given their gifts tonight." He glanced at Naomi before looking back at Chris. "When's your turn?"

The lively atmosphere gradually quieted. Several pairs of eyes followed Josh's gaze. Brandon immediately understood what he meant. Jasper merely curled the corner of his lips into a faint smile, while Cale calmly sipped the warm tea in front of him as though he had no idea what was going on.

Chris let out a slow breath. A faint smile appeared on his face before he slowly rose from his chair. "Give me a moment."

Naomi frowned. "Where are you going?"

Chris didn't answer. He merely smiled faintly before walking out of the dining room.

Naomi's eyes remained fixed on his retreating figure until he disappeared through the doorway. For some reason, her heart suddenly began beating a little faster. She glanced at Lydia, but the woman only returned a smile that was difficult to interpret. Even Josh seemed to be struggling to hold back his laughter.

A few seconds passed. Before long, the sound of footsteps echoed from the hallway once again.

Everyone instinctively turned toward the sound.

Chris reappeared, holding a large bouquet of red roses arranged so beautifully that it almost concealed part of his body. The light reflected off the crimson petals, making the room suddenly feel much quieter than before.

Naomi froze.

She had never expected this.

Chris did not walk over to her immediately.

Instead, he slowly made his way toward where Cale was seated and stopped directly in front of him. Still holding the bouquet with both hands, he drew a deep breath, as though gathering the courage to say something he had kept inside for a long time.

"Mr. Cale Miller."

Cale nearly spat out the wine he had just taken a sip of. His eyes remained fixed on Chris, who was now standing before him. His younger brother's gaze was filled with unwavering determination.

In the end, Cale could only clear his throat to recover from his surprise. "Yes?"
