Hollis looked at him suspiciously. "What are you doing?"

Folly adjusted his glasses.

"When I went downstairs earlier, those officers had already left. I didn't get the chance to clear things up with them."

Hollis frowned, letting out a frustrated sigh.

"We'll just have to ask Elysia to explain it for us later. We aren't as progressive as they think we are. We don't want Axel and Blossom together, so we can't accept their gratitude."

"Ugh, Blossom is so stubborn. She won't listen to a single word I say. I just don't know what to do anymore."

Folly said smoothly, "Then stop saying it."

Hollis froze. "What does that mean? Are you actually agreeing to let them be together?!"

Folly reasoned with her.

"It's not about whether we agree or not. They aren't even together in the first place."

"Blossom might not even succeed in winning him over, yet here we are playing the villains and trying to tear them apart. Aren't we just causing ourselves unnecessary grief?"

"Let's stop stressing over this and just go home. The holidays are right around the corner."

Hollis frowned deeply. "Go home? What about Blossom?"

Folly waved a dismissive hand. "Let her stay here for a few more days. Axel doesn't like her anyway. Who knows, maybe the moment he wakes up, he'll kick her out!"

"When that happens, we won't even need to argue with her. She'll come crying home all on her own."

Hollis's frown deepened. "And what if Axel actually falls for her?"

Folly was speechless.

Hollis crossed her arms. "I'm not leaving. If you want to leave, go by yourself. Either Blossom comes with us, or I stay. I am absolutely not leaving her here alone!"

Hollis turned to march back into the hospital room, but Folly quickly grabbed her arm.

"You have to leave, whether you want to or not. Something happened back in Jindale City."

Hollis stopped in her tracks. "What happened?"

Folly put on an expression of grim resolve.

He adjusted his glasses and swallowed hard before finally opening his mouth.

Before he could even finish his fabricated sentence, Hollis's eyes went wide. "Is... is that true?"

Folly nodded with a devastatingly solemn expression. "Yeah."

Hollis's eyes instantly welled with tears. She spun around and sprinted toward the elevators, completely forgetting to even say goodbye to Blossom.

Folly didn't go back inside either. He stepped toward the doorway, flashed an 'OK' sign to his daughter, and hurriedly chased after his panicked wife.
