It had to be said that Logan's progress with Joelle was remarkably fast. Just the day before, they had been talking about trying to get married this year. Now, he was already wearing a ring. Would he be bringing Joelle to Lisa for a prenatal check-up next month?
That was not impossible.
It was completely understandable that their relationship was moving so fast. Logan was exceptional, and Joelle had nothing to complain about. If he wanted to speed things up, she would have agreed without hesitation.
"What do you think?" Logan asked, noticing her staring at the ring on his hand.
Lisa looked at him. "Uncle Logan, did you propose?"
He twisted the ring on his finger. "This is a matching set. The women's version is exactly the same, just a size smaller.”
"Uncle Logan, you always had such great taste. It's very beautiful," she said, continuing to walk ahead. Even though the path was rough, she walked even faster.
She got into her car and drove off. As the car pulled away, she smacked the steering wheel. "He's everywhere, never giving me a moment of peace. Why did he have to mess with my quiet time in nature? Tomorrow, I should make a sign telling him to steer clear when he sees me."
Muttering to herself in frustration, she eventually had nowhere else to go and ended up at the hospital. When I saw her return, I was surprised. "Can't stay away from me or Merry?
"I can't stay away from you both. I had nowhere else to go today. Please take me in," Lisa said, looking at the sleeping Merry. "The more I look at her, the cuter she gets. I'm getting some sperm and doing IVF tomorrow—time to have a baby too!"
Her bold statement shocked the nanny and maid in the room, but they quickly realized it was a joke and tactfully went back to their tasks.
The room was left with only me and Lisa. "Who got on your nerves this time? Don't tell me it's because Logan brought his girlfriend home?"
"It has nothing to do with them," she stubbornly denied.
I chuckled. "Then it must be because it's Christmas, and you're feeling lonely all by yourself."
