Adam

"You offered her a job?" My dad asked, stunned just as I ended the call with Emily. He had come out of nowhere like an apparition almost scaring me. I was standing in the hall talking to Emily who was explaining to me why she had snapped at me earlier and was apologizing for her behavior.

"Yes, dad I did. Is that a problem?"

"Adam honestly yes, it is. The way you describe this girl, she seems very nice as I said before and I don't want someone who will distract you from work in the same building as you or worse cause problems because you can't keep it in your pants and settle down. You guys will probably start a relationship that may or may not end in turmoil and knowing you it's the latter, so yes I do have a problem with that."

"Dad relax, she and I haven't been going out or discussing anything about us being in a relationship. I am going to remain professional."

"Just like how you remain professional with Amelia? Why haven't you fired that girl yet?"

"How did you know that?" I was shocked. I thought that I had kept it under wraps and the only person who knew was James but my dad knows as well.

"Walls have ears son."

"Dad that's completely different––this is a completely different case and the reason I didn't fire her is that she needed the job to support herself and her family," I argued.

"If you say so son but all I can say is be careful. Now that you hired Ms. Martinez, what about Mrs. Wilson? Where will she work now that you have gotten a new personal assistant?" My dad asked curiously as he leaned up against the wall.

"Mrs. Wilson is getting old and a little tardy but I will still keep her around the office. She just won't be my personal assistant anymore."

Knock! Knock! A loud bang on the door interrupting my reading.

"Come in," I shout. In walked Amelia with a cup of coffee on a tray. "I just made this for you," she said while handing it to me.

"Thank you, you can leave it right there," I said while pointing to the far end of my desk. Resting it on the table, she walked around to where I was and started to rub my shoulders.

"You seem tense Adam, let me help you relieve some of that stress that you're feeling," she spoke seductively as her hand worked my shoulders.

"If you don't take your fucking hands off me, you're going to lose it faster than how you got them!" I said coolly.
