I could hear my phone going off and I wondered who would be calling me at this time. Sitting up, I took the phone from off the table beside my bed before I looked at the caller's ID then answered it. "Hey," her voice came into the phone.
"Hey," I replied while I watched the blond hair girl beside me move then settled back down comfortably in bed.
"Before I get into why I called you, I want to thank you for sending your driver although he seemed very scary and had made me feel uncomfortable all the way home."
Chuckling, I replied, "he told me that you practically ran out of the car when he had stopped at your home. You don't have to fear him, he isn't that bad. I would've picked you up myself but I was busy."
"Yeah right and I'm the queen of the moon," she retorted sarcastically. "Anyways I called to ask if we could hang out first before we go on a date like get to know each other, our likes and dislikes and other stuff?" before I could answer the blond hair girl shift again before she sat up straight in bed. Putting my hands to my lips as an indication to be quiet she cut her eyes at me before she laid back down.
"Sorry about that, it's no problem. Say we meet at the café around the corner from the bookstore?"
"Sure, no problem, thank you again for the ride and for doing this. Good night."
"Good night," I replied before she hung the phone up. Setting the phone down on the table, I heard Heather's voice come out.
"Are you cheating on me, Adam?" As soon as I heard her question, my head whipped around so fast it seemed like I had whiplash.
"Heather this is nothing more than just a fuck so don't read much into it." Scoffing in disgust, she got out of bed and got dressed before exiting without saying another word. Shaking my head at her behavior, I muttered, "drama queen" under my breath before I settled down back comfortably in bed. Waking up early the next morning, I took a shower, brushed my teeth, and washed my hair before I got dressed in something casual––jeans and a t-shirt. Going into my office, just down the hall, I sat in my chair and powered on my laptop before I got down to work.
By the time I had finished, it was three in the afternoon. Going upstairs, I got dressed into something suitable for the office. Going downstairs, I went into the kitchen to get a glass of orange juice and was greeted by my dad who was at the kitchen table drinking a cup of coffee dressed in golf clothing.
Sophia Gonzalez has been with the family for fifteen years, she was my mom's best friend and counselor in her time of need. She always treated me like her own and I love her like a second mom. She was treated like a family member rather than a member of staff. She was the humblest woman I know. With salt and pepper hair and standing at five feet, she was very caring and pleasant but could be very fierce and stern if need be. She had scolded and disciplined me on multiple occasions when I had stepped out of line and thrown my tantrums during my angry phase.
I kind of have this feeling that she likes James and he likes her too. It was something even the blind could see by the way they act when they are around each other. They always laugh at each other's jokes and Sophia is always blushing when she sees him. I want to interfere by bringing them together but I wasn't the meddling type and who knows maybe they are already together and are keeping it a secret.
Kissing her goodbye, we were about to walk out of the kitchen when James came in.
"James we are going to the golf course while we are gone we want you to watch over the house and also Sophia," My dad said to him.
Hearing Sophia's name his eyes darted to the maid headquarters which was on the opposite end of the kitchen before it darted back. Laughing to myself, I touched my dad's shoulder and told him that I was going to fetch the car from the garage. Exiting the kitchen, I turned to the right and walked down the hall that would lead me to the five-door garage. Picking up the Audi keys from off the hook, I opened the trunk and placed the golf clubs inside before I pressed the garage door button on the wall on the inside before going inside the car, waiting for the door to fully elevate so I could exit.
After the garage door had finally elevated, I drove out of the garage and stopped when I was now outside. Getting out of the car, I pressed the garage door button on the outside before getting back inside my car and driving around to the entrance of the house where I saw my dad standing outside waiting on me. Pop opening the trunk, he placed the basket with the golf balls inside and closed it before getting in the car where we drove off to the golf course that was located on the other side of town.
