Sonny’s place in Clearfield was quite a distance from the Flemming residence. It was already past midnight by the time he got home.

Everly sent him a message to ask if he got home safely.

He replied with a voice message. “I just got back, Ms. Flemming. You should get some rest. You have work tomorrow. Good night!”

Everly was already half-asleep when her phone chimed. She reached over to the nightstand and picked it up, seeing Sonny’s reply.

She did not say much and only responded with a thumbs-up emoji. Then, she put her phone back on the nightstand and went back to sleep.

It had been a long time since she had gone to bed this early.

Maybe it was because she was in a good mood, or because she was too exhausted. Either way, she slept soundly throughout the night without dreaming once.

At half-past six the next morning, she woke up without an alarm.

She was used to getting up at this time every day for her morning run.

Afterward, she would have breakfast, chat a little with her mother, and leave for work at seven-forty.

That was her daily routine.

The only exception was any business engagement that ran particularly late, such as until two or three in the morning. In those cases, she would head to the office a bit later, but those occasions were rare, as usually she would be home around midnight at the latest.

During those nights, she would shower as quickly as she could and go straight to bed. As long as she got six hours of sleep, she was fine. If she woke up at seven, she would simply work out at the gym instead of going outside for a run.

For the most part, her work schedule was quite consistent.

Everly picked up her phone and checked the time before getting out of bed.
