In the end, they had indeed cleaned the place together, but Angel never even got to tell his mother about the exciting work he had done with uncle Rav, because his mother had been replaced immediately after she came back from where she had gone with his father. He didn’t get to tell her how he had mopped and swept, when in truth he had been a hindrance to Rav, spilling things and causing Rav to redo everything. Nonetheless, Rav never complained or stopped him from helping; he only laughed and then redid the work while praising Angel for doing a good job.
Now that he heard about getting the location from uncle Rav and finding it, he realized he would have to lead Enny there.
"I need to talk to Rav before we go there, Angel." Evenly told the boy, and he nodded.
"Then let’s go and talk to uncle Rav and tell him that I can protect Enny to the underground house we cleaned together." Angel grinned, happy to help.

While Rohan was on his way to get back his wife and Evenly and Angel were on their way to talk to Rav, another person was raging in the dungeon in the castle. Cordelia was going crazy from the silence around her and the darkness and the foul smell. Many times she felt something crawling on her leg, and she would have to jump away screaming. Because of the crawling things, she couldn’t even dare sit anymore; not that there was a chair in the disgusting cell!
She stood at the front of the cell gate, her fingers clutching the rusted bars, angry and in pain. How dare Rohan leave her here? Though she dreaded even seeing him, as she knew her crazy cousin would only come back to hurt her, she didn’t think he meant to actually punish her to this extent because of that insignificant human he had been forced to marry.
If he believed he could keep her here, then he was dead wrong. Because she wasn’t done with him yet. She would make him pay, oh, he would pay big time for this. She had never gone a day without bathing or taking her fresh blood, but he kept her in this filthy place where things crawled on her.
Cordelia wouldn’t let this slide, and his first mistake was actually locking her here, thinking she couldn’t get away because of the vampire resistance gate. She always had her ways to do things, and just like that, she would get out of this place and show him he had messed with the wrong person.
Immediately he had locked her here and left, Cordelia had reached out to the vampire she had once turned in her life, who worked for her and Josh, and she shared a mind link with him. It turned out she hadn’t finished using that Josh; he would come in handy right now. He would come and save her from here.
Josh had always been a fool. He had believed her when she told her vampire to tell him that she had been taken as a prisoner by the crazy duke since those days she went absent, and she needed his help desperately. He had told her he would gather his men and head here to set her free.
"Don’t worry, Cordie, your man will get you out of there. Hold on there for me to come for you." Josh had told her vampire to relay to her the words, and Cordelia had rolled her eyes at the cheesy, irritating words. She didn’t care if he would have the chance to play the hero saving the princess in distress; all she wanted was to get out of here before that mad cousin of hers find his human and come back to kill her.
She didn’t know what was taking them this long when she had talked to him since last night when she was locked up!
While Cordelia waited for Josh, the man arrived to the castle with a dozen of men behind him. His carriages pulled up outside the castle big gate where there were large tall trees at the sides of the gate and all around the fence that made it look like no one was living in the big mighty old castle that had once been the royal castle.
"Break down the gate. I need to save my woman and get her to safety before the war gets to us. She says the duke is not around." He ordered the vampire men he brought with him, who quickly stepped forward to break the gate that took so much effort and time to break open from how strong it was and the lock around it.
"I am glad you are fine, Angel."
"Me too, uncle Rav. I am happy you are talking now and not scaring me like inside the yard. You know something, uncle Rav? Enny and me will go and stay in the safe house we clean together because danger is coming." Angel said, to which Rav’s smile fell, and he asked Evenly what the boy meant.
"The war is getting closer, Rav. The duke told me to head to the underground safe house if it reached us. I don’t want to leave you here though." Evenly said, placing her palm against the wooden door, knowing that even if she were to be safe, her mind wouldn’t be at ease with Rav left here.
Rav placed his shaking hand against the wood as he spoke, "Evenly, your safety matters the most. Do as Lord Dagon says. I can’t go in there with you in my condition. I will be fine here, as long as you are safe, I will be."
Angel, who was sitting down close to Evenly, frowned as he suddenly felt something off and got up from where he was sitting and walked to the railings behind Evenly.
Evenly rested her forehead against the wood, feeling her heart swell with love for the man behind the door. "Rav...there’s something I want you to know_"
"Enny, there are people inside our house!" came Angel’s words as he peeked through the railing down to the hall of the castle, seeing strange men walking in.
