"You!"

"You what? Can't you understand plain English?" Josefina snapped, her face set in annoyance.

Cassandra was caught off guard by Josefina's bluntness. So many people around, and yet Josefina had no qualms about letting loose?

Grinding her teeth, Cassandra shot back, "Fiona, aren't you worried I'll call your family to show them the real you?"

Josefina smirked, "Oh, I'm just shaking in my boots."

Cassandra sneered, "As far as I know, you’ve just been brought back into their lives. There's no real bond there."

"What are you, a fortune teller? Think you know it all? Aren’t you afraid of getting struck by lightning for poking your nose where it doesn’t belong?" Josefina retorted.

"Keep bluffing, Josefina. I doubt your biological parents are that fond of you. You'll be crying soon enough." With that, Cassandra stormed off in a huff.

Josefina watched her go, then took a bite of her pastry.

She pulled out her phone and sent a message to Luke.

Luke replied quickly, "Boss, Cassandra's family is falling apart. Her dad's run the business into the ground and lost a ton of money. Her brother's a lazy bum with no business sense. She's definitely trying to get her hands on your shares to cover their losses."

Josefina asked, "Why's she at the University of Melbourne anyway?"

"It's a long story. Her mom's cousin's husband pulled some strings to get her in. They even created a special program just for her, but it’ll be gone next year."

Josefina sighed, "Big trees catch the wind, as they say."

"Thanks for the update, Luke. I appreciate it."

"By the way, boss, why hasn't Logan been in touch? Have you heard from him? We all miss him."

Josefina hadn’t been in contact with Logan lately; she had too much on her plate. She felt guilty and unsure of how to face him.

Cassandra was telling Hattie, "My sister’s really underhanded. That money belongs to my family, and she’s just hogging it."

Hattie looked surprised, "Josie’s hogging your family’s money? Isn’t she your grandma’s biological granddaughter?"

"Exactly, Auntie. How could she take our money? I think you should have a word with her. It's so wrong to take what's not yours." Cassandra's anger flared as she recounted the injustice.

Hattie chuckled, "So, what do you think is the right thing to do?"

"Making money with your own skills, that's the right thing. Keeping something that's not yours will only burn your hands. Don't you agree, Auntie?"

Hattie clapped her hands, "You're absolutely right. I couldn't agree more."

Cassandra beamed, "Auntie, you’re so much more sensible than Fiona. She's so ill-mannered! Taking what's not hers and being so shameless about it. She's got a heart of stone!"

Cassandra kept ranting, oblivious to the change in Hattie’s expression.
