Her expression was cool, but her words were warm and polite, "Mr. Brandon, have you had breakfast yet? Our Josie has. Just a little while ago, Oliver's uncle, Cole, dropped by unexpectedly. Funny how life works, right? Like they say, birds of a feather flock together. Cole and Makiko just popped in to visit. I was a bit worried we wouldn't be able to host them properly since it was such a surprise."

Brandon listened to Hattie’s words, picking up on the subtle hints of her frustration. Cole and Makiko had shown up without any heads-up and somehow figured out which hospital room Josefina was in, without the family's input.

"Sharon, I had no idea Cole went to the hospital. I’ll give him a call and sort this out. Josie's trying to get better, and he's just adding stress by making her talk when she should be resting. He ought to know better as an elder."

Hattie raised an eyebrow, "Mr. Brandon, I get that Oliver's uncle, Cole, is concerned about Josie's health."

Brandon chuckled lightly, "Just like Josie, you’re very understanding. Sharon, thanks for looking after Josie. I'll call Cole now and visit Josie at the hospital a bit later."

Brandon ended the call with a gentle tone. But as soon as he put the phone down, his expression turned serious.

"Cole and his wife are just stirring up trouble! Why'd they go to the hospital now? Can't they see Oliver didn’t want them there?"

Brandon had lost his appetite. Bennett, his right-hand man, tried to calm him down, "Sir, maybe Cole was trying to make things right?"

"Well, ideally, he should visit. But he should’ve let me know in advance," Brandon said, clearly irritated.

Bennett continued, "Sir, your health is what matters most. Don’t let the younger folks' antics get to you. If you need to have a word with Cole, do it. Don’t keep it bottled up."
