Slim Jim was caught off guard, his pulse racing. What on earth was happening? How did he end up in handcuffs? He was seriously freaked.

“What are you guys doing? This is a civilized society!” His voice quivered with fear.

Tori jumped in, “Hey, don't worry, man. I’ll back you up. Let’s go, I'll come along. If they’ve got the wrong guy, you can sue them, and I’ll be your witness!”

Slim Jim felt a rush of gratitude and relief. “Thanks, buddy. You're a real stand-up guy.”

“Let’s step outside and sort this out,” Tori suggested.

They all headed out, Slim Jim’s hands still bound. With Tori in front and two officers at his back, there was no chance to bolt.

They hustled Slim Jim into a car, and he sat bewildered by it all.

“You guys are in cahoots!” Slim Jim blurted in disbelief.

Darren sneered, “Oh, Blackie. Who knew you had the guts to come to a concert? How was Calix’s show? Enjoy it?”

Slim Jim, also known as Blackie, worked as a delivery guy for a warehouse lab. He hadn’t left with the rest of the crew; the chance to see the concert for free was too tempting. He stayed and got recognized—and busted.

Blackie was at a loss, trying to hold back tears.

Tori urged him, “Look, pal, you better come clean. This is serious business, and you could end up in deep trouble!”

Blackie was furious. “You’re with them!” he snapped at Tori.

Tori replied with a grin, “Of course I’m with them! I’m always on the side of justice.”

Standing up, Tori added, “Darren, keep an eye on him. He’s got some moves, so be careful.”

Meanwhile, the news of Blackie’s capture quickly reached Cole.

Having just finished reprimanding Wilder, Cole was already stressed when this new problem cropped up.

Makiko looked like she’d seen a ghost, struggling to wrap her head around the mess. How did things get so out of control?

Cole was livid. “How on earth is Blackie a fan of Calix? When did he start getting into that?”

Makiko was equally stunned; who would’ve thought someone from their circle would be a fan? And now, he'd gotten himself arrested.

“I checked, and Blackie doesn’t know much,” Makiko assured him.

Cole shot back, “And how sure are you about that? Can you guarantee it?” His irritation was clear.
