Jade picked up her phone and dialed Josefina, setting a time and place for their meet-up. Josefina arrived right on time, spotting Jade already seated in the cozy café, her eyes eagerly scanning the entrance.

As soon as Jade saw Josefina's familiar silhouette, she waved with excitement, her face lighting up with a broad smile. Josefina returned the smile, her presence making the room feel even brighter in Jade's eyes.

"Josie, it's been forever! You look stunning as always!" Jade gushed.

Josefina chuckled, "It has been too long, Jade. You're still the charming sweet-talker I remember."

Jade giggled, reaching into her bag to pull out a handmade gift. "Josie, I've taken up crocheting, and I made this bag just for you."

Josefina accepted the gift, a charming white shoulder bag, crafted with care and attention to detail. It wasn't about the cost; the time and effort Jade had poured into it made it special.

"Thank you, Jade. I absolutely adore it," Josefina said, slinging the bag over her shoulder, her affection for it growing by the second.

After handing over the gift, Jade couldn't hide her nervousness.

"Jade, you wanted to talk about your brother, right?" Josefina gently nudged.

Jade nodded slowly, "Yeah, it's about my brother's girlfriend. I just don't have a good feeling about her. I know it's not my place to meddle, but ever since they got together, he's been so down, and now he's not even going to work. If he keeps this up, who knows what'll happen to him?"

Jade was so worried she felt she had no choice but to confide in Josefina.

Josefina reassured her, "I get it, Jade. But don't worry too much. Your brother will be fine. He's been working really hard and just needs some time off. I actually suggested he take a break for his own good."

Still, Jade couldn't shake off her anxiety. Her brother was all she had.

"I trust you, Sis," Jade said, trying to sound more confident than she felt.

Josefina continued, "So, you're not a fan of Deanna?"

Jade sighed, "She gave me all these fancy gifts. I wanted to refuse them, but it was hard to say no. I managed to return some through my brother, but there are others I haven't been able to give back because she’s been avoiding me."

"Jade, Ms. Josefina, what a coincidence!" a voice interrupted, breaking the moment.

Jade quickly tucked the sheets into her bag, looking up to see Deanna standing nearby.

Josefina smiled politely, "Aren't you from the east side of town? Quite the coincidence."

Deanna blushed slightly, "Alex was craving some food from that diner on the east side, so I picked some up for him. I was just passing by the café to grab a coffee when I saw you both."

A coincidence indeed?

Josefina was a bit surprised. Jade was even more caught off guard. Her brother hadn’t mentioned anything about this.

Sensing the awkwardness in the air, Deanna quickly said, "Well, my coffee's ready, so I’ll get going now."
