Ruby and Lauren settled into their seats at the café across the street, their eyes glued to the activity outside, ready to intercept Josefina and her family if they tried to leave.

Lauren took a sip of her coffee, her mood soured further by the bitter realization.

"Ruby, just wait. I'm going to squeeze every penny I can out of Josefina, then we can jet off abroad!"
