Josie was sitting in Oliver's car when, without a word, he leaned over and buckled her seatbelt for her.

"Oliver, he's my friend, practically family. Don't you think you're being a bit harsh today?" she asked, a hint of concern in her voice.

"Josie, don’t get mad. Grant won't hold a grudge. Right now, he's my rival in love, and that’s got nothing to do with your family ties. The fact that he’s got a thing for you and I haven’t kicked him out of Westwood yet already makes me a saint."

Josie was silent for a moment, but then it dawned on her. This was classic Oliver.

Still, Grant was her friend.

"I’ve already set things straight with him, you don’t need to worry. Oliver, are you sure you haven’t just spilled the whole vinegar jar here?" she teased.

Oliver leaned in, kissing her tenderly before gazing into her eyes, full of love. "Spilled it? I’ve knocked over a whole vinegar factory."

Josie couldn't help but laugh and gave him a gentle push. "Let's hit the road, okay?"

Oliver started the engine and drove Josie home.

...

Grant pulled into the underground parking lot. He hadn't even reached the elevator when a man approached him head-on.

Something about the man screamed 'trouble'.

The man stopped in front of Grant and made him an offer. "How about we join forces?"

Grant looked at him with a smirk. "Join forces? To do what, bankrupt you?"

The man frowned, sizing Grant up before speaking in a low tone, "Don’t you want to take down Oliver and win the girl?"

Grant let out a scoff, his arms folded across his chest in cool defiance. "And who are you to presume my thoughts?"

The man's anger flared, but he kept it in check. "You like Josie, don’t you? Make no mistake, I see Oliver as an enemy just like you do. I’m here because I want us to work together to take him down. Let’s find a quiet place to talk this over properly."

"This spot is quiet enough," Grant said.

The man thought Grant was agreeing to collaborate and said, "Don’t worry, we’ll ensure your safety and keep Josie out of it."

...

Back at home, Josie found Dorian waiting for her in the living room. The rest of the family was out.

"Dorian, where are Mom and Dad?" she inquired.

"They went to a birthday party for a friend," Dorian replied.

Josie sat down and shared her frustrations with Dorian. "I couldn’t get anything useful out of Lena. I did some tests on those bugs. Someone had cursed her. There was no reaction at first, but after we caught her, they killed the queen bug."

With the queen bug dead, the others wouldn’t survive long.

Neither would Lena.

Dorian understood what Josie meant and was unsurprised by Lena’s fate.

She had been a pawn for others, and it was clear her end wouldn’t be a pleasant one.
