Oliver couldn't shake the thought of the mole Josefina had mentioned. Could it really be such a coincidence? Was the mysterious woman from back then actually Sydney?
This thought gnawed at him. "Keep digging," he told Harry before hanging up and calling Josefina to fill her in.
"Josie, I remember you're free this afternoon. How about we swing by the hospital together and get to the bottom of this?"
Josefina's curiosity got the better of her. "Sure, I'll join you. Let's meet at the hospital entrance where Sydney is staying. No need to pick me up; it'll save time."
"Josie, let me come get you, though."
"Really, don't bother. Let's not waste time," Josefina insisted, hanging up before he could argue further.
She pocketed her phone and took a step forward, only to bump into an unwelcome face.
Xavier was there to pick up Mandy from school, and they both noticed Josefina. Mandy, clinging to Xavier's arm, shot Josefina a provocative look.
"What do you feel like eating, Mandy? I'll take you out. Were classes tough today?" Xavier asked tenderly.
"Not tired at all. With you picking me up, I could never be," Mandy replied, smiling.
Josefina couldn't stand their banter and quickened her pace, but Xavier blocked her path.
"Josefina, I hope you won't spread false rumors about me in front of Mandy. Mandy and I are truly in love, and I love her more than myself."
"Are you done? If so, shut it, will you? Listening to you is making me nauseous. Don't bother me, okay?" Josefina snapped, brushing past Xavier.
Mandy fumed, "Josefina is so ungrateful. Xavier, you shouldn't even talk to her. She has no manners."
Xavier reassured her gently, "Mandy, I just didn't want you to think less of me because of her. You know I'm all yours in this life."
