"Josefina, do you have a friend named Livia?" a voice asked over the phone.
"I do," Josefina replied with urgency.
She was immediately worried. How on earth had Alex run into Livia?
"Josefina, I found Livia, and she's in bad shape... I'm driving her to the General Hospital's new wing. It's the closest hospital. Can you meet us there?"
"Alright, I'll be there as soon as I can. I'll wait for you at the entrance," Josefina said, hanging up and dragging Oliver along as they hurried out the door.
They sped to the General Hospital's new wing. After checking in with Alex, Josefina found out they hadn't arrived yet, so she waited at the entrance while Oliver parked the car.
Soon after, Alex's car pulled up.
Josefina, who had already alerted the medical staff, rushed over as Alex got out. Livia was unconscious, her jeans soaked in blood.
Josefina gently lifted Livia from the car and placed her on a stretcher, quickly pushing her into the hospital.
The medical team wheeled Livia into the emergency room. Seeing the amount of blood on Livia's leg, Josefina feared the worst for her child.
"Alex, what happened? How did Livia end up unconscious and bleeding?" Josefina asked, her voice trembling and her eyes filling with tears.
Alex had never seen Josefina so distressed. He quickly recounted the incident, "I was out having a drink with some friends when we noticed four thugs chasing Livia. She seemed to be running from a private room. Livia kept saying she didn't know them, and she was already bleeding. We heard her screaming for help, calling out for Josie. I asked if she meant you, and she said yes, that you were a close friend and to please help her. My friends and I managed to get her away from them, and I called you immediately to take her to the hospital."
