After dinner, Josefina headed back to hang out with Livia again.

Luke and Percy were already there, and they’d brought along some snacks and drinks.

Luke poked a straw into a bubble tea and handed it to Livia. "Here, Liv, have some bubble tea."

As Livia spoke, no one noticed the flicker of sadness in Luke’s eyes.

Josefina walked in, picking up on Luke’s dampened mood. “Hey, Luke, find anything new?”

“Not yet, boss. Sorry.”

“No worries. Sydney’s been married to Rowan for so long and kept things under wraps. It's not surprising it’s tough to find anything.”

Luke smiled and handed Josefina a bubble tea, but didn’t pop the straw in for her.

Josefina took it, and Livia suggested, “How about we play some poker? It’s been ages, and I’m itching for a game.”

Luke was the first to agree. “Sure, I’m in. Haven’t played poker in a long time. You guys up for it?”

Percy looked at Josefina. “Josie, you free today?”

“Nothing much on my plate today. Sure, I’m in. Been a while since I played poker too.”

The four of them slipped back into their old, comfortable dynamic, enjoying a game of poker together.

Oliver waited at the entrance of the neighborhood for a bit before Josefina messaged him, telling him not to wait and to head back first.

“Mr. Oliver, there’s been a situation abroad. We need you to head there as soon as possible.”
