Brandon and Josefina were tucked away in the corner of their favorite coffee shop, the rich aroma of freshly brewed coffee wrapping around them like a cozy blanket.

“Grandpa Brandon, I can't thank you enough for coming to my rescue. But, how did you end up at Dominic’s place?” Josefina asked, her curiosity clearly piqued.

“It was Oliver who called me, worried sick about you facing danger while he had to jet off for some urgent business abroad. You're the granddaughter-in-law I've chosen, and it's a grandfather's duty to ensure your safety,” Brandon explained with a warm smile, his voice radiating reassurance.

Josefina was taken aback, not having expected Oliver to send Brandon in his stead.

“Josie, you know, Oliver has always been a bit of an ice king, but he melts around you. I've seen it – he’s different with you. He's a man of few words but grand gestures. I believe after spending this much time together, you've noticed it too. He's quite the catch, you know,” Brandon said, a twinkle in his eye.

“Grandpa Brandon, I've noticed Oliver's dad had a deep connection with Ms. Sydney, but Oliver doesn’t seem too attached to Mr. Brandon. How did Mr. Brandon come to meet Ms. Sydney? I'm asking to help untangle Oliver's feelings, make him feel better. But, if it’s too much, feel free to ignore my question. I'm just casually asking, don’t mind me,” Josefina expressed, feeling a bit embarrassed about prying into personal affairs.

Brandon's voice turned somber, his mood dipping as he revisited old memories.

“When Rowan first met Sydney, I was against it. He was like a man bewitched, adamant that she was the one. They met abroad, on a trip. Upon his return, he brought Sydney home. Oliver's mother was devastated by the news.”
