As they chatted, Ayala’s eyes suddenly widened as she looked towards the door. Following her gaze, Hattie turned and jumped in surprise.

There was Josefina, effortlessly carrying Evan as though he weighed nothing.

Seeing the astonished looks on Hattie and Ayala’s faces, Josefina chuckled. "Mom, Auntie, don’t worry. Uncle just fainted at the sight of blood. I brought him back to rest. He’ll be fine after a nap."

After settling Evan in a room on the first floor, Josefina joined Hattie and Ayala outside.

Feeling a bit embarrassed, Ayala said, "Josie, I’m so sorry for all the trouble we’ve caused since coming to Westwood. We really didn’t mean to impose."

Josie waved it off with a smile. "Auntie, it’s no trouble at all. We’re family, and family helps each other out. I’ll give you a couple of protective amulets for Uncle. And since you’re pregnant, I’d recommend keeping your distance from Xavier and Mandy for now. Wait until things calm down before getting involved with Mandy again."

Ayala, reminded of her pregnancy, knew any stress could harm both her and the baby. She was also worried about Mandy, her own child.

Hattie chimed in, "Sis, try not to stress too much. Dorian is still here in Westwood. Let him handle it. Mandy needs to face some challenges to understand who truly cares for her."

Ayala nodded, understanding Hattie’s words came from a place of concern. Her heart still felt heavy.

"Hattie, Josie, thank you. Evan and I told Xavier our company was going bankrupt. I want to see if Xavier genuinely cares for Mandy. I’m hoping Reid comes back soon; Evan could really use his advice. My nephew always has good ideas, maybe he can suggest something."

"He should be back any minute now. Reid’s been on a business trip and is returning today," Hattie replied.
