Reid was stunned. "Dad, are you seriously telling me Josie fixed Robot No. 1?"

"Yep, your sister worked her magic."

Reid was struggling to wrap his head around the fact that Josie had actually managed to fix it. Even more surprising was that she knew how to. His sister, a jack-of-all-trades?

"Your sister even skipped breakfast to fix that robot. Reid, from now on, you handle these things. Don't let Josie overdo it. If anything happens to her, you and I are going to have a serious talk!" Garrett ended the call on that note.

On her way, Josie bumped into Oliver and wasn't exactly in the mood to chat.

Trying to break the ice, Oliver said, "Morning, Aunt Hattie. I came to pick up Josie. I've got something important I need her help with."

Josie understood what Oliver was getting at; there was important stuff to deal with.

"Oliver, Josie hasn't had her breakfast yet. Let her eat first, then you two can head out," Hattie said gently.

"Sure thing."

Without another word, the trio made their way to the diner for breakfast. The spread was lavish, and Oliver joined them at the table. After breakfast, Oliver and Josie headed out.

Hattie put down her fork, looking worried. "Josie seems a bit off. Did Oliver upset her?"

"That's unlikely, or she wouldn't have shared a meal with him," Garrett reasoned.

"What do you know? Josie was just being polite, giving Oliver a chance. If she hadn't, she would've shown him the door ages ago."

Garrett couldn't help but chuckle, nearly bursting into laughter at Hattie's remarks.

Hattie shot him a look. "Are you making fun of me?"

"Hattie, no way. I think you hit the nail on the head, absolutely. I'm just lucky to have such a wise wife. I could wake up laughing from my dreams."
