**Chapter 473**
That evening, Isabella found herself once again nestled in the comfort of the Miller household. The warmth of familiarity wrapped around her, but it was a fleeting sanctuary; by the following night, Franklin had already arranged for someone to come and retrieve her.
The atmosphere at Wilson Corp was electric with anticipation, as the partnership with Wilson Corp was on the brink of a significant breakthrough. Early the next morning, Maggie arrived at the office, her mind buzzing with possibilities and strategies.
When noon rolled around, she descended the stairs alongside Jarrell, Claremont, and a few other colleagues, their chatter filling the air with a sense of camaraderie. However, as they reached the lobby, Maggie’s eyes widened in surprise when she spotted Julia.
Claremont and the others immediately offered polite greetings, their voices echoing the same respectful tone they always used. “Mrs. Brown,” they said in unison, a practiced politeness that felt almost ritualistic.
Julia acknowledged them with a slight nod of her head, her demeanor cool and collected. “Heading out for lunch?” she inquired, her voice smooth yet devoid of warmth.
“Yes,” Claremont replied, a smile breaking across his face, hoping to draw Julia into a more engaging conversation. He hesitated, expecting her to at least exchange a few cordial words with Maggie, considering Julia’s new role as a prominent figure at Wilson Corp.
But to his utter astonishment, Julia seemed to disregard Maggie entirely.
With a bright smile directed at Claremont and the others, she simply stated, “All right then, enjoy your meal. We’ll eat together another time.”
Claremont blinked in surprise, caught off guard by her dismissive behavior.
The air grew thick with uncertainty as the rest of the Wilson Corp team exchanged glances, each of them silently questioning the awkwardness of the moment.
For a fleeting second, they pondered whether Julia genuinely didn’t recognize Maggie or was deliberately pretending not to. Yet, they all knew that the two women had crossed paths before. Maggie had been deeply involved in projects linked to Wilson Tech, and Julia, now at the helm of that division, surely had to remember her. How could she possibly not know who Maggie was?
Yet, Maggie chose to remain silent, her gaze averted. She didn’t offer a greeting, nor did she acknowledge Julia’s presence in any way. It was as if she were unaware that Julia was Franklin’s girlfriend and the current leader of Wilson Tech.
Julia, for her part, didn’t spare Maggie a single glance. She treated her as if she were a mere shadow, giving a brief nod to the others before turning away, her indifference palpable.
Maggie hadn’t intended to encounter Julia at all; in fact, she would have preferred to avoid her. But with Julia standing so close, it felt impossible to ignore the tension that crackled in the air.
Even as Julia acted like Maggie was invisible, Maggie couldn’t help but notice the disdain subtly etched on Julia’s lips, the cold arrogance glimmering in her eyes. It was a look that suggested Julia no longer regarded her as a rival or a threat—just a mere afterthought.
As Julia walked away, Claremont’s brow furrowed in confusion. Something about the encounter felt off.
If Julia and Maggie truly didn’t know each other, considering how highly Wilson Corp esteemed Maggie, Julia should have at least made an effort to inquire about her. But she had chosen to deliberately sidestep her.

Alguém saberia dizer o que houve com o livro, sem atualização a tempos...
Nada de episódio novo?...
Does the book stop? When are we going to get a new chapter?...
Olá, A história parou no capítulo 288? O nome do livro me gerou mais expectativas, quando ela realmente vai desprezar os dois e brilhar???...
Everytime I read new updates I am hoping to see Maggie completely moving on with her life not always checking where Franklin is up to with Julia. I think everyone reading this story by now understand that Franklin doesn't care about Julia. So what is the point of always pointing out how indifferent Franklin is to Maggie and how attentive he is towards Julia....
What does Helen mean Maggie is still married? Married to whom? Franklin has made it clear that he doesn't consider her anything and is flaunting his relationship with Julia for anyone who has eyes to witness it.So Maggie should wait for the divorce to be finalized to date. Isn't that double standards. And Franklin is dragging the divorce deliberately since divorced or not he does what he wants without any consequences. Really women are emotionally oppressed even authors only know that point of view 😕...
I feel sad for Maggie and all married women who have to endure emotional abuse with no end in sight. By the look of it,Franklin doesn't want to divorce Maggie for whatever reason. Either the reason is good or bad, Maggie shouldn't be humiliated like this just because she loves him. And the grandmother should be helping her get a divorce not emotionally blackmailing her, if she really cared about her. Franklin is using Maggie's love for the grandmother to abuse her. Is really loving people wrong? Author this one-sided hurt is not right. Let Maggie move on with dignity. It shouldn't end up with Franklin professing his love for her and her accepting it....
