The press conference commenced shortly after the scheduled time, the air buzzing with anticipation.
Maggie made a conscious decision to avoid any further glances at Franklin. Her mind was a fortress, fortified against distractions.
Her entire attention was riveted to the stage, where the glaring lights illuminated the microphones like sentinels waiting for their moment to capture the spoken word. Reporters from every corner of the globe hurled a barrage of technical inquiries her way, each question a sharp arrow aimed at piercing through the complexities of her work.
With each question, Maggie’s responses flowed effortlessly, calm and measured, like a well-rehearsed symphony. Her explanations of intricate systems were delivered with a clarity that could only be described as masterful, her confidence palpable in the air.
As the event drew to a close, the impact of her words began to ripple through the vast networks of global media, the news spreading like wildfire.
The conference had ignited a sensation, capturing the attention of audiences both at home and abroad.
Naturally, the Brown family—entrenched in similar industries—was not one to overlook such significant news.
Logan and Kevin, in particular, were glued to their screens, dissecting every detail of Wilson Corp’s announcements with an intensity that bordered on obsession.
Sophia, who usually found little allure in technical presentations, clicked on the live replay purely because of Franklin’s involvement.
But as the video loaded, her expression shifted dramatically. There was Maggie, poised and commanding on the stage.
Her reaction was instantaneous. “It’s her again! She’s everywhere!” she exclaimed, frustration lacing her voice.
Janice and Old Mrs. Brown exchanged glances, mild surprise etched on their faces.
They had been aware that Wilson Corp was collaborating with Cole, yet they had assumed that Johnny would be the one to represent Cole at such a high-profile conference.
After all, this press event had been heavily promoted, drawing significant global attention.
They hadn’t felt the need to watch it live, convinced that simply knowing Wilson Corp was once again at the forefront of the market was sufficient.
However, upon hearing Sophia’s outburst, their curiosity piqued, and they reluctantly opened the video. What they saw was Maggie, commanding the stage with an authority that was hard to ignore.
Not only had she taken on the role of Cole’s representative, but she also appeared to be the linchpin of the entire conference.
According to the executives at Wilson Corp, it was Maggie’s exceptional leadership that had propelled the collaboration to unprecedented technical heights.
“How could she really be that capable?” Sophia scoffed, her disdain evident. “She’s probably just riding on Johnny’s coattails.”
As she watched Maggie navigate questions about algorithms and data modeling with an effortless grace, Sophia’s anger simmered.
“She’s up there acting like some expert, pretending she knows everything—honestly, it’s shameless!” she huffed, crossing her arms defiantly.

Alguém saberia dizer o que houve com o livro, sem atualização a tempos...
Nada de episódio novo?...
Does the book stop? When are we going to get a new chapter?...
Olá, A história parou no capítulo 288? O nome do livro me gerou mais expectativas, quando ela realmente vai desprezar os dois e brilhar???...
Everytime I read new updates I am hoping to see Maggie completely moving on with her life not always checking where Franklin is up to with Julia. I think everyone reading this story by now understand that Franklin doesn't care about Julia. So what is the point of always pointing out how indifferent Franklin is to Maggie and how attentive he is towards Julia....
What does Helen mean Maggie is still married? Married to whom? Franklin has made it clear that he doesn't consider her anything and is flaunting his relationship with Julia for anyone who has eyes to witness it.So Maggie should wait for the divorce to be finalized to date. Isn't that double standards. And Franklin is dragging the divorce deliberately since divorced or not he does what he wants without any consequences. Really women are emotionally oppressed even authors only know that point of view 😕...
I feel sad for Maggie and all married women who have to endure emotional abuse with no end in sight. By the look of it,Franklin doesn't want to divorce Maggie for whatever reason. Either the reason is good or bad, Maggie shouldn't be humiliated like this just because she loves him. And the grandmother should be helping her get a divorce not emotionally blackmailing her, if she really cared about her. Franklin is using Maggie's love for the grandmother to abuse her. Is really loving people wrong? Author this one-sided hurt is not right. Let Maggie move on with dignity. It shouldn't end up with Franklin professing his love for her and her accepting it....
