Once his boisterous laughter faded away, Yale’s gaze bounced back and forth between Johnny and Maggie, lingering on Mag composed face for several drawn out seconds before snapping back to lock onto Johnny once more.
Mr. Gray, you’re truly astonishingly loyal when it comes to shielding her from any criticism, aren’t you?”
ohnny’s eyes stayed sharp and resolute, his voice steady and unshaken without the slightest waver as he delivered his short, eply. “Of course I am.”
A collective chorus of shocked gasps and quiet exclamations rippled through every section of the auditorium upon hearing his mapologetic confirmation.
Deep down, every person seated in the crowd had already expected Johnny to refuse to concede any wrongdoing.
Admitting to ghostwriting Maggie’s research would seal his fate professionally, leaving zero room for damage control or salvag hattered credibility within the global AI industry.
ale had long since realized this unavoidable reality himself, yet witnessing Johnny maintain such flawless composure, not a si witch of panic or guilt showing on his features, still left him utterly stunned.
t also stirred a sharp wave of crushing disappointment deep within his chest.
He thought back to the idealistic motivations that had driven him to join Cole Corporation in the beginning, recalling all the ordi: ollaborative work days they’d once shared as colleagues on the same research team.
A bitter, hollow smile tugged at the corners of his mouth as he addressed Johnny one finale, his tone saturated with heavy lisillusionment.
Mr. Gray, I’m starting to realize I never truly understood who you really were at all.”
ulia, Franklin, and Daphne had quietly stepped over to the edge of the stage moments earlier, standing just a short distance away rom Maggie and Johnny, within clear sight of everyone seated in the auditorium.
All this time, Julia had not found a single opening to cut through the tense back-and-forth and speak her mind.
low that Yale had paused mid-accusation, she seized the split second of silence and called out urgently toward him. “Yale.”
‘ale’s head snapped over toward Julia the instant her voice reached his ears.
he sharp, bitter edge that had hardened his features softened completely the second his gaze landed on filia, his expression meltin nto quiet, gentle sympathy that anyone watching could easily pick up on.
Jut when his eyes drifted sideways to take in Franklin standing right beside her, a cold, unnoticeable frost crept back into his stare vithout the slightest delay.
He could tell Julia was ready to step forward and lay everything out for the crowd, and he’d assumed she was holding back out of Courtesy, unwilling to air all this painful private history in front of such a distinguished gathering-after all, this entire forum event was hosted under Dr. Mercer’s authority, and every big name in the Al industry was watching closely
Still, every thought swirling through his mind circled back to how deeply sorry he felt for her

Alguém saberia dizer o que houve com o livro, sem atualização a tempos...
Nada de episódio novo?...
Does the book stop? When are we going to get a new chapter?...
Olá, A história parou no capítulo 288? O nome do livro me gerou mais expectativas, quando ela realmente vai desprezar os dois e brilhar???...
Everytime I read new updates I am hoping to see Maggie completely moving on with her life not always checking where Franklin is up to with Julia. I think everyone reading this story by now understand that Franklin doesn't care about Julia. So what is the point of always pointing out how indifferent Franklin is to Maggie and how attentive he is towards Julia....
What does Helen mean Maggie is still married? Married to whom? Franklin has made it clear that he doesn't consider her anything and is flaunting his relationship with Julia for anyone who has eyes to witness it.So Maggie should wait for the divorce to be finalized to date. Isn't that double standards. And Franklin is dragging the divorce deliberately since divorced or not he does what he wants without any consequences. Really women are emotionally oppressed even authors only know that point of view 😕...
I feel sad for Maggie and all married women who have to endure emotional abuse with no end in sight. By the look of it,Franklin doesn't want to divorce Maggie for whatever reason. Either the reason is good or bad, Maggie shouldn't be humiliated like this just because she loves him. And the grandmother should be helping her get a divorce not emotionally blackmailing her, if she really cared about her. Franklin is using Maggie's love for the grandmother to abuse her. Is really loving people wrong? Author this one-sided hurt is not right. Let Maggie move on with dignity. It shouldn't end up with Franklin professing his love for her and her accepting it....
