Chapter 791
It took Yale only a heartbeat to convince himself that Johnny was merely putting on a brave show to hide his inner turmoil.
A sharp, sarcastic grin tugged at his mouth He jerked one thumb toward the massive projection screen behind him, his voice carrying dearly across the hushed ballroom.
‘Oh, really? Then what exactly are your thoughts on all of this, Mr. Gray? I’m genuinely dying to hear what you have to say.”
Even Dr. Mercer, who had seen countless high-profile scandals unfold over his career, sat frozen in pure shock.
He had never imagined there could be such a tangled secret between Maggie and Franklin.
His gaze locked onto Maggie and Franklin down on the main floor, just like every other guest in attendance.
Every set of eyes in the venue, including Rex and Yves’, zeroed in on Johnny.
Ives kept his gaze glued to Johnny, hardly daring to blink, terrified he would miss the most explosive moment of the whole night.
lex had clearly caught Julia’s devastated, disbelieving reaction the instant the photographs popped up on screen. His expression had urned ice-cold.
Earlier, when he had sent those photos over to Johnny, there had been zero response. Now he waited, eager to see what excuse ohnny could possibly come up with.
He burned to find out what kind of smooth-talking lines Maggie had used to pull the wool over Johnny’s eyes, even with hard-hitting vidence sitting right out in the open for everyone to see.
Beneath the weight of the entire room’s unwavering attention, the amusement in Johnny’s eyes deepened. He held Yale’s stare steady nd began to speak.
My thoughts? Huh. Yale, that’s a pretty ridiculous question. These two are husband and wife-”
ohnny never got to finish his sentence. Out of nowhere, Isabella came sprinting straight toward Franklin.
Daddy!”
‘he little girl threw herself right into Franklin’s open arms.
aught off guard by Isabella’s sudden appearance, Franklin passed his wine glass off to a nearby staff member and reached down to atch her.
he whole room had fallen dead silent, all waiting for Johnny to keep talking. The high-pitched sound of a child’s voice cut through he tension, and every guest was thrown off-balance. All attention instantly shifted over toward Isabella.
Whispers rippled through the crowd as people wondered who on earth had brought a small child into this formal gala. Then they watched the little girl bury herself against Franklin’s chest.
Most people in the room already knew Franklin had a daughter. Someone quickly murmured the thought out loud.
Chapter 781
“Is that Mr. Wilson’s daughter?”
A
Looks like it.”
immy, Glen, Harry, Levi, and Rexall spotted Isabella right away.
he second they realized the little girl calling for Daddy was Franklin’s daughter, Jimmy and Gren both paused, turning their heads
oward Franklin’s spot.
ven Rex and Yves were caught completely off guard.
ves muttered under his breath. “What’s going on? How did Franklin’s daughter get here? Is Johnny even going to keep going?”
ex’s brows drew together into a tight frown.
he rest of the audience grew restless and anxious. Everyone worried that Isabella’s unexpected arrival would make Johnny back off.
fter all, one of the two people featured in those damning photos had his own daughter standing right there. No one wanted to air ordid details about a father’s private life directly in front of his child.
ale shared that exact line of thinking.
lis features hardened, and he fixed a sharp glare on Franklin.
le was convinced Franklin had orchestrated this whole distraction.
n his mind, Franklin was avoiding public accountability for his connection with Maggie and had used his own daughter as a human
hield.
ist as Franklin was about to lift Isabella fully off the marble floor into his embrace, the young girl caught sight of Julia out of the
orner of her eye.
he had been about to call out to Julia, when her gaze traveled a short distance further and landed on Maggie.

Alguém saberia dizer o que houve com o livro, sem atualização a tempos...
Nada de episódio novo?...
Does the book stop? When are we going to get a new chapter?...
Olá, A história parou no capítulo 288? O nome do livro me gerou mais expectativas, quando ela realmente vai desprezar os dois e brilhar???...
Everytime I read new updates I am hoping to see Maggie completely moving on with her life not always checking where Franklin is up to with Julia. I think everyone reading this story by now understand that Franklin doesn't care about Julia. So what is the point of always pointing out how indifferent Franklin is to Maggie and how attentive he is towards Julia....
What does Helen mean Maggie is still married? Married to whom? Franklin has made it clear that he doesn't consider her anything and is flaunting his relationship with Julia for anyone who has eyes to witness it.So Maggie should wait for the divorce to be finalized to date. Isn't that double standards. And Franklin is dragging the divorce deliberately since divorced or not he does what he wants without any consequences. Really women are emotionally oppressed even authors only know that point of view 😕...
I feel sad for Maggie and all married women who have to endure emotional abuse with no end in sight. By the look of it,Franklin doesn't want to divorce Maggie for whatever reason. Either the reason is good or bad, Maggie shouldn't be humiliated like this just because she loves him. And the grandmother should be helping her get a divorce not emotionally blackmailing her, if she really cared about her. Franklin is using Maggie's love for the grandmother to abuse her. Is really loving people wrong? Author this one-sided hurt is not right. Let Maggie move on with dignity. It shouldn't end up with Franklin professing his love for her and her accepting it....
