Elizabeth got up. “Let me check. You seem pretty much back to normal.”

She was back in no time, a smile on her face. “You can go now.”

Emily didn’t waste a moment. She gathered her things and walked straight out of the hospital.

Just as she was leaving, she bumped into Andrew Lane’s assistant. He gave her a look like she’d broken his heart, but Emily couldn’t care less. She kept her head high and walked past him without saying a word.

Emily shook her head. “It helps, but if we can prove Juliana Silva and Dennis Lane are mother and son, that’s way more convincing.”

Andrew looked at her quietly from the bed. “You want me to help?”

“Of course,” Emily said, not missing a beat.
