Tristan: Anything.

Unknown Number: Then I want you to kneel. Kneel for five minutes, record a video, and send it to me. Do it quickly. Otherwise, I can’t promise what I might do in the meantime.

Elizabeth stared at the message, her anger practically visible. “No. Absolutely not. He’s just trying to humiliate you. You can’t do this.”

Tristan was much calmer than she was, even though he was the one being ordered around.

Elizabeth didn’t doubt for a second that Tristan would actually go through with it—kneeling, filming, sending the video. He always did what needed to be done.

He handed her his phone, steady and unbothered. “You film it for me.”

Elizabeth gripped the phone, her brow drawn tight with worry.

Tristan stepped out of the car like it was nothing, and even tried to comfort her. “Benjamin’s lost it. If we don’t do what he says, who knows what Emily will go through. This buys us some time, and it’s just five minutes. That’s nothing compared to what Emily’s facing. I’ll be okay. Don’t worry about me.”

Elizabeth clenched her jaw, frustrated and helpless, but she knew he was right.

She started recording, pointing the camera at Tristan. “Okay… go ahead.”

Tristan didn’t hesitate. He knelt down right in front of the camera and lowered his eyes, silent and composed.

Elizabeth couldn’t stand to watch through the screen. She looked away.

This was Tristan—someone who’d probably never faced this kind of humiliation in his life.

Everyone else in the room felt the weight of it, the silence heavy and uncomfortable.

The three other men said nothing, keeping their eyes averted.

Elizabeth counted down the minutes in her head. As soon as five minutes passed, she stopped recording. “Tristan, you can get up. That’s enough.”

Worst of all, Emily was still with him, and no one here could do a thing about it.

Elizabeth saw the message and turned away, refusing to look at Tristan’s calm face or hear his answer.

She already knew. No matter how ridiculous or cruel Benjamin’s demands were, Tristan would agree. He always would.

She pressed her hand over her mouth, her eyes burning with hatred for Benjamin Gomez.

Tristan’s voice came from behind her, steady as ever. “Elizabeth, can you film again?”

Elizabeth turned, her expression complicated.

Tristan was calm—so much calmer than anyone should be in his position. He handed her the phone and spoke in an even tone. “Go ahead. Every extra second helps us.”
