BLAKE's POV

I was in my room working on the matters concerning my pack when Rock came rushing in my room.

"there's been a security breach, ALPHA" he said

"Call, our best warriors to assemble in 5 minutes" I said leaving my work.

Rock was my beta and we were best buds since our childhood days. He's a kind, decent guy who performs the pack duties with utmost loyalty. Although I tell him to call me by my name, he still insists that I should be respected, only then will the other pack members follow him. He got his mate when he was 18 and every time, I saw them together I couldn't control my jealousy.

Noticing my misery, Rock tried to keep his relationship away from me. It helped me in some way, but still, I missed my mate.

Although I had met my beautiful mate when I was 6, I lost her when I came to tell my parents the news. When I went back to the spot, I had met her earlier, she wasn't there anymore. That was the biggest regret of my life. If only I held on to her, I would be a happy man now. She was so beautiful with her pale skin and black eyes. One that matched my wolf, her smile is still something I can't forget.

So, every time I hear someone has breached the territory, I go there in the hopes of finding her. Today too I hope I can meet her.

As I went near the gate, my dad patted me on the shoulder "you'll find her soon, son" he said with hopeful eyes, ones that I had lost long back. It's been 20 years since I lost her. My parents tried convincing me to get an arrange marriage done, but when I knew that she still existed, me and my inner wolf, Max, both, rejected the idea of even touching someone other than her. Max and I knew that she was still out there, it's just a matter of time before we find her.

I changed into my wolf form and went near the culprit who had entered our border. My subordinates held him down, while he sneered at me with bloodied teeth.

Rock mind linked me saying "he's the one who kidnaps children and sells them, we should not let him go".

There have been many incidents where the children were kidnapped even on high-security and we have still not been able to catch the culprit. It's been 3 years since this is happening but we have no clues. Although ours is the largest feared pack called Black Night, it still disappoints me, to not live up to my pack's expectations.

I ordered the grey wolf to speak about the mastermind behind this and where all the children were held captive.

"look how the strong Alpha is begging" he snickered.

I was losing my patience each moment I saw his face. I could only see the cries and howls of the parents who had lost their kids.

"what do you think you're doing, she is my mate, she might be hurt, move or I'm going to RIP you apart" I growled.

"Calm down Alpha you should not scare her, she is already afraid of what she saw by the lake. If you scare her even more, she won't like you"

My wolf whined when he heard her not liking him because of the incident. We wanted our mate to love us, not shun us out.

"I heard that a new family moved in from the city head, I will ask him about the details....meet her when you have calmed down, she won't be leaving any time soon".

Although I badly wanted to oppose him and carry my bride away with me. What he said was true. Although we started with a bad start, I still want her to accept us.

My wolf was feeling down knowing that we were going back without meeting our mate. I knew we had to control ourselves from going wild in front of her.

I told Rock to gather all the details about her and her family. I wanted to know whether she was the same girl I had met in my childhood or not. It wouldn't matter as I would still love her unconditionally. My wolf and I slept happily knowing that we would be able to meet her tomorrow.
