I had been married to Shawn Brown for six years, but during that entire time, he had never met my family. At first, I didn't want him to meet them because I was afraid it would hurt his pride.

In the second year of our marriage, I wanted to introduce him to my parents, but Shawn always made excuses, claiming he was too busy.

At the time, I believed him, but now I realize he simply looked down on my parents after gaining his CEO status.

He thought my parents were poor and felt embarrassed to have such people in his life.

But wasn't he poor once too?

Shawn grew more agitated when I remained silent, and suddenly he lunged toward my father, as if to strike him.

"You old bastard, do you feel proud about ruining someone else's marriage?"

I rushed forward, pushing Shawn away, and stood protectively in front of my dad, furious.

"Don't you dare project your filthy thoughts onto me. This is my father!"

Shawn froze for a moment, clearly not believing what I had said.

"You said your parents had no money, but he's wearing custom-made suits. How could he possibly be your father?"

I had no choice but to explain the entire situation.

When Shawn finally realized the middle-aged man in front of him was, in fact, my father, his eyes welled up with tears, and he looked like he might cry from the shock.

My father looked at him with deep disappointment.

"When Winnie insisted on marrying you, I helped you out behind the scenes, hoping you would treat her well. But what did you do? You used her love for you to bully her with other women. A person like you doesn't deserve to be with my daughter."

After saying that, my father turned to leave, but Shawn grabbed my hand almost immediately, his eyes red as he pleaded,

"Winnie, I know I was wrong. I've cut ties with Lindsay White. Please, don't leave me."

"Gerhard misses you too. He's been so upset, he's forgotten how to eat or sleep. Please don't be so heartless. Come back to us."

At that moment, a black sedan pulled up beside them, and Lindsay White stepped out, her high heels clicking against the ground.

From the distance, I couldn't hear their conversation, but I could see Lindsay in tears, pleading with them to go home. Yet, the Browns acted like they were possessed, refusing to listen to her. They even shoved her to the ground.

Later, I found out that Lindsay had come to ask them to return home. She wanted Shawn to sign the divorce papers and marry her, but Shawn had refused.

Not long after, Lindsay and Shawn's relationship completely fell apart. In front of everyone at the company, Shawn slapped her hard across the face.

Lindsay, completely heartbroken, decided to marry a man she had met through an arranged marriage.

But just a month after their wedding, she discovered her new husband had gambled away millions of dollars in debt. The luxurious image he had shown her was nothing more than a façade.

He emptied her family's wealth, and the Lin family quickly fell into decline. Lindsay completely lost it and was sent to a mental institution.
