Charles got off the car and looked up at the building in front of him. Although their companies were very close, he had never been there once.

He took out his phone and called Helen, "I'm already downstairs."

With just one sentence, he hung up. On the other side, Helen looked at the phone, speechlessly. She didn't know what was wrong with him today because unexpectedly he came to pick her up from work. Helen didn't dare to keep the man downstairs waiting for too long. She immediately packed her things and quickly went downstairs.

Helen had just arrived downstairs when she saw Charles leaning against the car through the glass at the door. Her heart was knocking wildly for he didn't change a lot since the first time she saw him. He was just a bit more mature.

Helen quickly walked out while he was turning to look at the door. His eyes watched hers. In a hurry, Helen did not know how to react. Charles saw the obvious surprise and panic in the eyes of the woman in front of him. She was a little nervous.

Raising his hand, he beckoned Helen to come over. Helen thought that he had an emergency so forgot to look out for cars on the road. It was also because there was still a while before rush hour and there wasn't much traffic on the road. So Helen ran straight to Charles.

As a motorcycle rushed past Helen, who had just run across the road, Charles became nervous. His heart inexplicably lost its rhythm. Subconsciously he raised his hand and grabbed the woman who had just run over, pulling her towards him with all his might.

"What are you doing? Don't die here." Charles shouted at the dumbfounded Helen.

He concerned her, but he didn't know why he said such words. He could feel Helen's hand trembling.

Charles let go of his hand silently and said with a terrible expression, "Watch cars on the road next time. Even a three-year-old kid knows this ..."

Helen originally wanted to ask him what happened. However, after Charles roared at her, she forgot what she wanted to say.

Charles didn't know why he told her this. It was an act. Why was he out of control instead?

"My family won't pay the compensation if you damage someone's car." Charles, who felt awkward, added.

However, he felt stranger. Seeing Helen's stunned expression, Charles was a little angry.

"What are you still standing for? Get in the car."

Looking at Charles' angry expression, Helen did not dare to speak anymore. She gently replied, "Oh."

...

On the other side, Helen and Charles did not say a word along the way. Charles did not want to talk because he was not sure whether what he said was his true thoughts.

Helen wanted to say something, but seeing Charles' terrifying expression, she didn't dare to say anything.

An awkward atmosphere pervaded the small space. Before the car was stationary, Helen hurriedly opened the door, got out of the car, and ran into the house.

Charles, who had yet to recover from the awkward atmosphere, was shocked. He stepped down on the brake, though the car had already stopped!

Before Charles could curse, Helen got out of the car and ran away.

Seeing her escaping from his car, Charles once again had deep doubts about himself.
