Upon hearing Harmony’s sobbing, Sera, on the other end of the line, was taken aback. “What’s wrong? Why are you crying so much? Where are you? I’m coming over.”
Harmony gave her the address. When Sera arrived, she handed her a hat and a mask because Harmony couldn’t be seen in this state. She was currently in the eye of the storm in the entertainment industry, and any news could potentially ruin her reputation.
Once in the car, Sera initially wanted to scold Harmony for hiding in the bathroom and crying like this, but she ended up feeling more sympathy for her.
“Tell me, what happened? Did Ezekiel hurt you?”
“No… I came out today to meet his mother.” Harmony calmed down a bit, but her eyes were already swollen from crying.
Upon hearing this, Sera could roughly guess what had happened, but she still asked for confirmation, “Did Mrs. Weiss ask you to leave Ezekiel?”
Harmony didn’t answer, but her tears did. Sera sighed, “I had a feeling this would happen. Even though Ezekiel loves you very much, his background is too privileged. He’s not someone an ordinary girl can match. Harmony, you need to be strong. You need to face this with the optimistic attitude you had before.”
Harmony choked out, “I thought I could be strong, just like when Reuben left. I was able to move on in less than a day. But with Ezekiel… can’t move on. Sera, please help me!”
She couldn’t help bursting into tears again.
Sera gently patted her. “How can I help you? This is something you have to deal with on your own.”
“I love him, I really love him. Not his money, but him as a person.” Harmony said truthfully.
Sera knew her well. If it were any other girl saying this, she would have doubted it. But she knew Harmony wasn’t a gold digger. So, she believed that Harmony truly loved Ezekiel.
At that, Harmony quickly said, “No, you don’t need to accompany me. Stay with your grandmother!”
“Alright! Stay safe,” Ezekiel said gently.
Harmony spent a sleepless night at Sera’s house. Sera stayed up with her all night, and they discussed a plan on how to make Ezekiel leave her.
“Sera… I…”
“If you want Ezekiel to leave you, there’s only one way. That is, you fall in love with someone else. Among the male artists attending the gala, just choose one who is interested in you.”
Harmony sighed inwardly. Do I really have to do this?
