A new waiter nearby started to intervene but was stopped by his manager. "Do you know who that is? Are you trying to get yourself killed?"

With no way to retreat, Claudia warned Mayes, "Don't forget how you got that prosthesis on your left arm."

Her words instantly wiped the smile from Mayes's face, twisting it into a grimace. He held up his left arm, revealing the artificial limb. His gaze turned venomous. "Claudia, York cost me an arm for you back then. Now that you're divorced, I'd like to see who's going to stand up for a secondhand, divorced woman like you!"

In full view of everyone, Mayes forcibly dragged Claudia out of the club.

The scene was witnessed by Marcia, who was just coming downstairs. She hesitated for a moment, then turned and ran back to the second floor.

Across the street from the club, inside a luxury car, Mayes pushed Claudia down onto the back seat and began frantically tearing at her clothes. "I became a cripple because of you! Today, I'll sleep with you first and consider it a down payment on the interest I'm owed!"

Mayes slapped her twice, hard, leaving her dizzy and her lip bleeding.

Just as Claudia thought it was all over, a loud crash shattered the car window. A hand, cut and bleeding from the broken glass, reached inside and unlocked the door.

The next second, Mayes was dragged out of the car.

"Claudia!"

Seeing Claudia on the back seat, York frantically took off his jacket and wrapped it around her.

"I'm going to kill that bastard!" Claudia sobbed, her voice trembling as York held her.

"Alright," York said, his own heart trembling as he held her shaking body. "We'll kill him."

Freed from his captors, Mayes saw York and scrambled away, running across the street in terror.

In the middle of the road, a sudden, loud 'BANG!' echoed as a black G-Wagen slammed into Mayes, sending him flying. It was followed by the sickening thud of a body hitting the pavement. Mayes convulsed in agony for a few moments before passing out, his prosthetic arm completely detached from his body.
