Claudia stood up, her expression cold.

York’s dark eyes searched her face as he cautiously sat up.

He stood before her and mumbled, “I really did drink too much.”

With a look that saw through everything, she asked, “Tell me, whose idea was this?”

They looked at each other. York lowered his head and muttered one word: “Peter.”

With that single word, he had not only sold himself out but Peter as well.

Claudia couldn’t help but let out a short, mocking laugh.

It seemed York had left his intelligence behind in his past life.

Patting his shoulder, she said, “You just wait here. I’m going to the restroom, and then I’ll take you home.”

Once out of the room, Claudia walked straight out of the club, hailed a cab, and went home.

On the way, she even remembered to pick up some late-night snacks for her parents and brother.
