“Grandfather,” he explained, “I wasn’t the one who brought her back.”

He then looked at his parents. “Mom, Dad, you can rest assured, I will not have any further contact with that woman.”

Sewell snorted. “You’d better mean it.”

Wendy was unconvinced. “The moment she returned to the country, she found the hotel where you and Claudia were celebrating. If you didn’t tell her, how did she find it?”

York lowered his eyes, hiding the emotions within them.

He was one hundred percent certain that Ann’s appearance at the party was Claudia’s doing.

The day Claudia had asked him to go to the seafood market with her… as soon as he saw Ann’s brother and sister-in-law, he knew what Claudia was planning.
