Frank fell silent for quite some time before replying to Wyatt's question. "Maybe. Maybe it's a parallel universe, even. But no matter what it is, we can't let such horrible things happen."

Wyatt nodded. "I know I used to be a selfish jerk. I can't possibly deny that. But is what Carl's doing really going to bring everything back to how it was?"

"Honestly, I'm not sure. I just want our family to go back to the way we were, but I also know that it's not exactly what Noelle wants."

Frank was also rather conflicted, which was why he wanted to go to the island to see her for himself.

A few hours later, their helicopter landed on the helipad at the top of the island. Both Frank and Wyatt got off together.

Wyatt was now wearing the upgraded second-generation model prosthetic from Maple Enterprise. It was an even better fit compared to the standard version from before.

Carl stood nearby and greeted both Frank and Wyatt. "Frank, I hope you won't do anything pointless."

Frank asked, "What do you mean by that?"

"If you suddenly have a change of heart and decide to let Noelle get in contact with Cedric, then our family will be done for."

Frank pursed his lips and replied, "So Noelle still refuses your plan, right?"

Carl replied, "For now, yes. But she'll eventually agree to it a month later."

Frank looked at Carl and asked, "It's going to take a month? Are you going to erase her memory?"

Wyatt spoke up. "Wouldn't that potentially damage her brain?"

Carl explained, "No, I promise it won't. Noelle will forget everything from before and only remember us after a month."

Frank asked, "Is Noelle going to forget everything?"

Carl looked at both Frank and Wyatt. "Yes. It is only when she's a blank slate that we can fill in what has happened, however we want.
