Chapter 146
Evelyn asked, “Mr. Smith, were you waiting for Ms. Torrey?“”
Victor didn’t enjoy wearing his heart on his sleeves. “Please have a seat, Ms. Granger.”
Evelyn sat across from Victor.
Meanwhile, Ariana sat in a corner of the restaurant with a walkie–talkie and began coordinating with the staff.
As expected, a server soon approached Victor and Evelyn with menus in hand. “Would you like to order?”
“I…” Before Evelyn could finish her sentence, Victor interjected, “No need. We’ll leave as soon as we’re done talking”
With that, Victor glanced at Hunter, who handed a stack of cash to the server.
The server was stunned by the sheer amount of money. It was the first time anyone had paid so much without ordering a single dish!
After the server left awkwardly, Ariana straightened up. What was going on?
She spoke into her walkie–talkie, “Send them two desserts on the house, and include a bottle of red wine.”
She didn’t believe they would drink on empty stomachs.
Shortly after, the server returned with two heart–shaped desserts and a bottle of wine.
The server smiled. “These are complimentary desserts and vine from the restaurant. Would you like to try them?“/
“Thank you.” Evelyn smiled.
Once the server left, Evelyn started a conversation. “Mr. Smith, this restaurant is known for its desserts. Would you like to try some?”
“I don’t like sweets.” Victor rejected her coldly.
From her hiding spot, Ariana listened to the exchange and felt a headache coming on. No matter how romantic the setting or the mood, Victor could kill the vibe instantly.
Evelyn’s smile froze.
Victor glanced at his watch, then instructed Hunter, “Call Ms. Torrey.”
“Yes, Mr. Smith.” Hunter nodded.
“Mr. Smith!” Evelyn interrupted. “This discussion is between the two of us and doesn’t concern Ms. Torrey. Perhaps we should just let it be.”
Victor didn’t respond, and Hunder had already taken out his phone to call Ariana.
In the corner, Ariana’s phone rang. Though she quickly declined the call, the ringtone had already caught Victor’s
attention.
Victor stood up and strode toward the corner. Moments later, he returned, dragging Ariana out of her hiding spot. “Do you enjoy eavesdropping, Ms. Torrey?”
Ariana feigned calmness and put away her phone. “I’ve actually been here for a while. I just got hungry, that’s all.”
“If you’re that hungry, eat with us.” Victor grabbed her wrist and led her to the dining area,

Evelyn’s expression darkened as she watched Victor act so intimately with Ariana.
Did Ariana trick her?
“Sit.” Victor forced Ariana into the chair.
