Emily's heart raced faster, and her hand shook as she held the key. It was smooth—someone clearly often stroked it. She pulled out her own key to compare it.

Underneath the lights, she saw her name etched daintily onto the back of her key. She placed both keys together and compared them. They were identical, and the gold-plated surface made her sure that the other key hadn't been forged. It seemed to be an original.
