Luna said, "Can I take your concern as a sign that you might have feelings for me?"

Jack shook his head. "No! Friends care for each other the same way too."

"Okay!" Luna looked at Jack sternly and said, "You don't have to worry about me. I have a few relatives in New Vork, so I'll look for them. Thank you for your help today. I wouldn't have known what to do if you hadn't swooped in to help."

At this point, the haze of the alcohol finally began to lift for Luna. Recalling the danger she had narrowly escaped, a lingering sense of fear still clutched at her heart.

"What do you mean?" Jack curiously asked.

"Back then, when some guys outside of Alnewgo University harassed my roommate and me, you saved us with your Bentley. At that moment, you appeared so charmingly and intimidating. Now, in New Vork and miles away from home, you saved me again. If this isn't fate, tell me what this is," Luna said as she looked at Jack inexplicably.

Women were emotional creatures; they often romanticized fate and destiny.

If meeting outside of Alnewgo University was a coincidence, meeting again in faraway New Vork and being saved by Jack could no longer be described as a coincidence.

This was the doing of fate and destiny.

At this thought, Luna looked at Jack, the man who always left one in awe and breathless. She said gently, "Jack, do you believe in destiny?"

"I'm a realist," Jack firmly replied.

Under the influence of alcohol, Luna rolled her eyes at Jack. "Could you not be such a realist?"
